A few pokes to her side along with calls of her name earned no response from Marianne, who lay on her back motionless. No medical aid or otherwise was called however, for this was not a motionless state brought on by beatings nor similar.
The fact that faint snoring could be heard gave that away. As was the fact Marianne was fully asleep with the biggest grin to her face.
