Maria The Reaper vs Rose the Devil

The moment the bell rang, Maria began taking measured strides to her opponent The luchadora was unblinking, rearing her good leg back and throwing precise, hard hitting kicks right into Rose's kneecap. She was not keen on showing signs of weakness here. It was clear that the Devil was not like her other opponents. Maria often gave credit to her family's persona of the Reaper. It struck fear in the hearts of wrestlers around the world, both from her father and herself. There were times though, when intimidation was not enough. Good thing she had skill to back it up.

Rose narrowed her eyes when her opponent starts off with a couple quick kicks. She was fast! She could only react quickly enough to block her kicks with her shin instead, wincing slightly every tine their legs made contact.

That wasn't a spot people typically went for on their first attack. Typically they tried to punch the head, or the gut, or at least started off with a grapple. This woman was a planner. She wanted to cut her mobility down first. As if she was going to just let that happen.

She had to be careful, but she also needed to learn a bit more. She takes a chance and darts in, trying to grab her shoulders. She knew likely she'd try to disengage. Question was what would she try afterwards.

Maria had to commend her opponent. Not many withstood the initial onslaught. Her persona was a method of psychological warfare, meant to inspire fear in the weak willed. Rose clearly was made of sterner stuff, not fleeing in terror nor disengaging. She blocked all of her kicks, though not without taking a bit of pain herself in the process. The pain did not hamper her mobility, with the devil surging forward to go for the lockup!

With such a skilled woman, Maria had to do the unexpected. Grabbing onto Rose's arms, the Reaper pitched her body back, lifting her legs to flip her opponent up and over her prone body in a monkey flip! Not keen to miss a beat, the living legend kipped back up to her feet, brushing her hair to the side at the smattering of applause.

Rose lunges in, and catches her in a tie up. Her plan was to follow it up with a quick strike with her forearm to her cheek, in an attempt to rattle her head a bit. Before she could, however, Maria had snagged two handfuls of her bustier, and was pulling her towards her! She was going to flip her!

Rose's expression was one of shock as she gets pulled in, but as she's about to get tossed over, she flips with her, and rolls when she hits the mat again, to lessen the impact and stay on her feet. The applause seemed to be for both women as their first exchange seemed to end with a bit of a stalemate with the two of them facing their back to each other.

Rose turned first, but would not attack while Maria still had her back turned. While normally one to take advantage of any opportunity she gets, she felt a twinge of respect for this woman in particular. She just hoped it wouldn't turn out unfounded. After the applause died down, Rose would motion Maria towards her once she turned around.

Maria shouldn't be shocked, not hearing the sudden slam of her opponent's impact into the canvas.Little did Rose know, but Maria's purpose here in LAW was not just to train and teach. She was here to find the one who she could have that last match with. The perfect opponent that could be worthy to face her in the Reaper's playground for the last time. Maybe it was possible that Rose could be?

She mentally shook her head. It was far too early to tell, even as she cracked her neck, silver eyes staring right back into Rose's as if burrowing a hole through her skull with just her gaze. Moving in, she initiated the lock up, opting for sharp rising knee strikes to the gut to bring the other woman down a peg or two. Show off to the Reaper and it shall bear all it's deadly force.
