Hortensia had proven herself to be quick on her feet so Valerie wasn't surprised when the younger girl dodged her clothesline attempt. Considering the earlier admission that her strength wasn't up to par with Valerie's and her seeming reluctance to engage in a prolonged exchange with her, it stood to reason that speed was the Aster girl wanted to use her speed to keep Valerie off-balance and out of her reach. After the dodge a counterattack was sure to follow but Valerie was prepared this time. As Hortensia moved to the left side of Valerie's body opposite of her outstretched right arm, the orange-haired woman spun on her heel. She brought her left arm up and channeled her momentum into a spinning back elbow strike hoping to catch Hortensia as the younger girl leapt towards her.

The worst part about falling into the speedy glass cannon archetype as a fighter was that sometimes you just got absolutely smoked, even if you didn't mess up. If your opponent made the right prediction, had a feeling and called you out just right, you could lose for nothing more than the sin of not being unpredictable or random enough. Hortensia had just gotten hard read by Valerie.

Hortensia dodged the Clothesline, jumped behind Valerie, and got her jaw smashed in by an elbow. Her head snapped around with the blow, her body went spinning sideways in the air, and Hortensia was out cold before she even hit the canvas. Her tongue lolled out, the tip of it tasting the floor as a dribble of drool leaked over her bottom lip and down her chin.

The only reason the referee wasn't calling Hortensia's defeat was because this match was to be decided by pin or submission. There wasn't a single mention of knock outs on the match card. Of course, Valerie could just pin Hortensia know and win the match. The pinkette obviously couldn't resist. But if Valerie wanted to have some fun, nothing was stopping her from waking Hortensia up with a submission hold.

While Valerie had been able to correctly predict what Hortensia was going to do next, it wouldn't have mattered if she couldn't actually keep up with her opponent. Fortunately, Valerie had been able to react fast enough to catch the younger girl in the jaw with the spinning back elbow. The force of the blow sent Hortensia flying some distance before she hit the ground hard.

With Hortensia laying face-down on the mat motionless, Valerie believed her simply to have been stunned by the hit. The orange-haired Brit would take the opportunity to try and neutralize the opponent's speed advantage. She approached the younger Aster daughter, grabbed one of her legs, and bent it backward while sitting down on her back to apply the Half Boston Crab.
