Dainty Little Problem - Laxia vs. Jazmine DeLuxe

Match Type: Standard Match
Victory Conditions: Gained by either pinfall, KO, or submission from the opponent.
Normal rules apply

Continued from here...

It didn’t take long for the match to be made after the commotion backstage. Before the heat from the interview had even cooled, the booking came together quickly, setting up a clash between two of LAW’s rising rookies. And on the night of the match, the arena was packed. The stands were filled with fans eager to see two women with sharply contrasting styles finally collide inside the ring. Waiting at the gorilla position, Laxia stepped toward the stage the moment the staff gave her the cue.

The darkened entranceway suddenly came alive as her theme filled the arena, violin strings woven over a heavy beat. Golden pyro erupted on both sides of the stage, and through the flashes emerged Laxia in the white, black, and gold ring gear that had gradually become her signature look.

Under the spotlight, she paused with her chin slightly raised and both hands resting at her hips, taking in the crowd with a confident expression before making her way naturally down the ramp. Compared to her earliest appearances, she looked noticeably more comfortable now.

She acknowledged the crowd with an elegant smile, offering small nods and the occasional wave as the cheers followed her toward the ring. Outwardly, she carried herself with ease, though with every step closer to the ropes, her heart beat a little faster. Reaching the ring, Laxia pulled the ropes apart with both hands and slipped gracefully between them. With a light hop, she climbed onto the turnbuckle with effortless ease, then dipped into an elegant bow toward the audience.

The crowd answered with an even louder roar. The reaction she received seemed to grow with every match. And Laxia couldn’t help but smile at that. When she had first been told that the backstage interview had gone viral and drawn an enormous number of views, she hadn’t quite been able to shake the nagging thought that perhaps the attention had belonged more to Jazmine, the woman who had barged in and effortlessly stolen the room, than to her. But the cheers surrounding her now felt different. At least in this moment, they sounded like voices that had come to see her. That alone was enough to wash away some of the lingering doubt.

Laxia retreated to her corner and began loosening her shoulders and arms, bouncing lightly on the balls of her feet before lifting her head. The first impressions they had formed of one another backstage, based entirely on appearances, would finally be stripped down to the truth inside the ring. Her gaze settled on the entrance stage. Would Jazmine appear wearing that same smug smile as before? Or would stepping into the ring reveal something different? The corner of Laxia’s mouth lifted slightly. Either way, it hardly mattered. She would find out for herself soon enough. Leaning back into her corner, Laxia gave her wrists and shoulders one final stretch and kept her eyes fixed on the stage. Now there was only one thing left to wait for...

Only moments ago, Jazmine had done what she did best: steal attention. She'd hijacked somebody else's interview and turned herself into the story. All those cameras had been pointed at Laxia when Jazmine walked in, and by the time she walked away, the two of them had a match. Now the crowd knew her name, Laxia knew exactly who she was, and Jazmine had given herself another reason to be on camera. She'd talked her shit backstage, too. There was only one thing left to do now.

Back it up.

The arena lights dropped after Laxia's entrance faded, and Jazmine's music hit.
Entrance Theme: Cardi B - Money

She stepped onto the stage in her cropped fur jacket, oversized sunglasses and gold around her neck which caught the light with every step. Jazmine took her time down the ramp, stopping along the barricade to talk some shit to a few fans before moving on toward the ring. One fan reached over the barricade and shouted something at her that made her laugh, and she pointed straight at him before blowing him a kiss. Another tried to heckle her from the front row, earning nothing more than a dismissive wave and a grin.

“Keep booing, baby. You still paid to see me.”

By the time Jazmine reached ringside, her eyes were already fixed on Laxia, waiting in her corner. She stopped beside the apron and looked up at her, that familiar grin spreading across her face when their eyes met. Jazmine slowly removed her sunglasses and jacket and folded them with exaggerated care before reaching over the barricade to hand them to a waiting staff member.

“Hold these, baby. Don't lose 'em. They cost more than your whole outfit.”

With her entrance gear out of the way, Jazmine slapped the side of the apron and climbed onto it. She walked along the edge toward the corner nearest Laxia, then turned toward the audience and threw both arms out, soaking up the noise. Cheers and boos came from different sections of the arena, and Jazmine laughed as if she couldn't have asked for a better response. She crouched and slid underneath the bottom rope feet first, rolling onto her side before popping back up. Jazmine walked toward the center of the ring and slowly turned, taking in the arena while the crowd continued to make their feelings known. She ran both hands through her hair, raised one arm overhead, then pointed toward herself with the other.

“This is my house tonight!”

Jazmine finally backed toward her corner, keeping her eyes on Laxia as she bounced lightly on the balls of her feet and loosened her shoulders. There wasn't a trace of nerves on her face. “Hope that fancy little attitude still fits when you gotta fight for real, princess.” Jazmine pushed away from the corner and moved toward the center as the referee prepared to start the match.

At last, the lights dimmed, and Jazmine’s theme filled the arena.

Rap.

The first beat struck, and Laxia’s brows drew together by the faintest degree. To her ear, the song seemed to mistake force for substance, every heavy beat elbowing aside whatever trace of melody or grace might have survived beneath it. It was noise dressed for an occasion, loud, polished, and altogether too pleased with itself. Laxia gave a small shake of her head, as though the music itself had committed some minor but unforgivable breach of etiquette.

Then Jazmine appeared onstage, every bit as flashy as her music. She wore a cropped purple fur jacket that matched her ring gear, oversized sunglasses large enough to hide half her face, and gold jewelry that flashed beneath the arena lights. Every movement she made on her way down the ramp seemed to demand attention. It was peacocking in its purest form. Laxia watched from her corner with her arms folded, her disapproval plain across her face.

Yet there was something else that bothered her even more. The crowd’s reaction was much louder than she had expected. They were both rookies. When had Jazmine managed to build this much of a following? Fortunately, plenty of boos were mixed in with the cheers erupting throughout the stands. At least they were not all cheering for her. That was some consolation. Jazmine made her way down the ramp, trading barbs with the fans along the way. The moment she reached ringside, she looked directly at Laxia. Their eyes met. And then...

That smile.

The same smug, self-assured smile she had worn backstage, the one that had already gotten under Laxia’s skin. Jazmine slapped the side of the apron and climbed onto it, then made a point of walking toward the corner closest to Laxia. Right in front of her, she threw both arms wide toward the crowd, drawing even more noise from the arena. Laxia turned an incredulous stare on her. Not content with that, Jazmine entered the ring and strode to its center, raising one arm and pointing toward herself as though the entire arena belonged to her. Laxia looked around the stands, then lifted both hands in a small shrug and slowly shook her head. The gesture spoke for itself.

Back in her corner, Jazmine kept her eyes fixed on Laxia as she bounced lightly on the balls of her feet and rolled her shoulders. Laxia took the opportunity to study her more carefully. It had already been obvious backstage that Jazmine took her conditioning seriously. The cut of her ring gear only made it clearer, highlighting her defined abs, strong limbs, and lean, athletic frame. Even the smaller details, the choker, the carefully chosen accents, the purple color scheme felt deliberate. Gaudy as it all was, Jazmine knew exactly how to make herself stand out. Laxia had to give her that. Not aloud, of course.

Jazmine finished with one last taunt, calling her princess yet again. Laxia did not answer immediately. She simply watched Jazmine for a moment. Then a faint smile tugged at one corner of her mouth. “If you can last long enough to make me fight for real...” She let the silence hang for a moment, tilting her head slightly. “Then you may see for yourself.” Jazmine pushed away from her corner and moved toward the center of the ring. After checking both wrestlers, the referee called for the bell.

*DING! DING! DING!*

Ordinarily, Laxia might have offered her opponent a handshake before the bell. Not tonight. Jazmine had chosen provocation over courtesy from the start. Laxia saw no reason to reward that with courtesy of her own. She stepped slowly out of her corner and began circling Jazmine. Her gaze moved from her opponent’s shoulders to her waist, then down to her feet, tracking even the slightest shift in posture. Up close, the difference in size was impossible to ignore. Laxia showed no concern. Keeping just out of reach, she slowly raised both hands. An unmistakable invitation to lock up. A faint smile touched her lips as she curled her fingers, beckoning Jazmine forward. “Well, then…” She tilted her head slightly. “Do come and try.”

Jazmine stood in the center of the ring, watching Laxia circle her with that careful, measured look. The size difference was obvious up close. Laxia was smaller and lighter on her feet, her attention constantly moving between Jazmine's shoulders, hands, and stance as though she were trying to figure out exactly what kind of opponent she'd stepped in there with. And Jazmine couldn't wait to show her.

She rolled one shoulder, then the other, keeping her eyes on Laxia as that smug little smile stayed right where it was. There was no reason to give away what she was thinking. Laxia could study her all she wanted. Jazmine wasn't going to stand there and make it easy for her.

When Laxia finally raised both hands and beckoned her forward, Jazmine actually laughed under her breath. “Oh, I see. You’re invitin’ me to dance.”

She took one slow step forward, then another, closing some of the distance without committing herself to the tie-up. Her hands remained loose in front of her, eyes fixed on Laxia as she moved into range. Jazmine lifted her hands a little higher, giving every indication that she had finally accepted the invitation. Her lead hand reached forward as though she were going for Laxia's shoulder, while the other came up toward her opponent's arm, selling the idea that a collar-and-elbow tie-up was coming next.

“Nah, girl. I don’t play nice.”

She feinted like she was going to take the offer anyway, hands coming up as if she was about to collar-and-elbow. At the last second she shot her leg out in front of her, aiming a heavy kick straight into Laxia’s midsection with enough force behind it to fold her and send her stumbling back toward the ropes if it connected!

Laxia circled Jazmine slowly, studying her movements. The lazy roll of her shoulders, the hands held loosely in front of her, the smug smile that never quite left her lips. Even the smallest gesture might offer a clue to what came next, but Jazmine remained frustratingly difficult to read. It was as though she had no intention of showing her hand. There was no hint of nerves, no restless urge to attack. She simply watched Laxia with a smile, seemingly amused by her caution.

It was Laxia who raised her hands first and offered the invitation. Jazmine answered with a quiet laugh before approaching at her leisure. One step, then another, her voluminous curls bouncing lightly with each footfall. With every step closer, the difference in size became harder to ignore, but Laxia did not look away. She held Jazmine’s gaze while keeping track of those loosely poised hands in her peripheral vision. Only when she was close enough did Jazmine finally raise them. One reached toward Laxia’s shoulder, the other toward her arm. As Jazmine appeared to accept the tie-up, Laxia flexed her fingers, preparing to meet her.

Then Jazmine made that pointed little remark.

What...?

Laxia hesitated for a moment. Yet the hands in front of her were still coming up as though to accept the lockup. Just as she cautiously reached out to take hold of her opponent, Jazmine’s posture abruptly changed. This time, it was not a hand coming toward her.

I knew it...!

Laxia had considered the possibility that Jazmine would not accept her invitation so readily. That was precisely why she had kept herself tense, watching her opponent so closely. The instant she caught the movement of Jazmine’s leg, she tried to step back and pull her midsection out of reach. But before she could withdraw, Jazmine’s kick closed the distance.

“Guh...!”

Jazmine’s foot drove deep into her abdomen before she could get clear. Laxia’s eyes flew wide, her mouth falling open as the impact forced the breath from her in a short, strangled gasp. Speed was not the only problem. The blow carried far more weight than she had expected. Despite how firmly she had braced her stomach, it folded her forward, and the hands that had been reaching for Jazmine flew instinctively to her belly. Had she taken the kick without moving back, she might well have ended up in an undignified heap on the mat.

Laxia staggered backward, doubled over. One step was not enough to steady her, so she took another, then another, her feet scrambling against the canvas as she fought for balance. Her attempt to retreat had at least helped her keep her feet, but as she stumbled back toward the ropes, she still could not straighten up.
