Mimi had already committed the moment she shouted her move. Her spin was huge. Way too huge. For one glorious half second she thought she absolutely nailed the timing. Then Spectre ducked.
“…oh”
Mimi sailed past nothing but air. “I meant to do that, I meant to, I was just setting up the ne- !!” She turned around. Too late.
CRACK.
The Moonkick smashed into her temple and Mimi did not fall gracefully. Her whole body snapped sideways first, then she spun and got absolutely spiked into the mat in a chaotic starfish splat that rattled the ring.
She laid there. One boot twitching. Eyes unfocused. Out cold for the moment, breathing slow.
No more thinking permitted! Hearing Mimi's plan wasn't on her action list. Everything that's happened proved she didn't it. And so when she landed, her initial reaction was to smirk, roll her eyes and survey the crowd. She strutted in a lap while the crowd booed at her. Angry dispositions were plentiful. How dare she silence their bubblegum bombshell!
After finishing the lap, she bent over and picked up Mimi's pigtails to lift her head off the mat. Then she sat behind Mimi's head, slung her legs around her neck and locked her ankles over Mimi's tummy. The pigtails were use like a duster to smother Mimi's face and brush back and forth.
"I didn't say you could sleep."
Then she did it again. Using all those hairs to tickle Mimi's face. She wanted consciousness... A peep of life so afterward she could then squeeze her legs together and see how she'd take being choked blue.

Mimi groaned as her head was yanked up by the pigtails, her face scrunching up immediately when her own hair started brushing across her nose and cheeks. “Nngh… h-huh…?” Her eyes fluttered open. The arena noise hit her a second later, followed by the realization that she was still trapped.
The tickling caught her completely off guard. She tried turning her head away, but the movement only made the strands brush against her face again. Her shoulders shook as she squirmed. “Stooop! H-Hey!!” Mimi kicked her boots against the canvas and reached up blindly, trying to bat the hair away from her face.
“I wasn’t sleeping!” she protested between sputtering laughs. “I was… uh…” She paused, unable to think of an excuse. “…taking a strategic nap!” Then the reality of her position set in. Her eyes widened. She could feel her opponent’s legs around her neck and torso, the trap closing around her from every angle.
Mimi grabbed at the legs around her, panic replacing the laughter. Her boots scraped frantically against the mat as she twisted and bucked, trying to create even a little bit of space before the hold could tighten further.
Fish on the line as they say. Not that she ever did that. But apart from the disgusting slimy texture of a fish, the writhing and method of suppression was all the same. Head control. Two hands in ponytails, legs pinched and scissored. Her smaller weight was upset by the throes, tossed and jerked till she collapsed onto her side.
“There you go. Now you’re almost fighting.” She twisted and attempted to turn to death roll Mimi across the canvas. Hands in the ponytail like her steering wheel. She aimed for anywhere but the ropes. In a circle, really. She felt no need to retreat now. Nor give up her leg scissor. She could resist prying legs. This was exactly where she wanted to be.
And now that Mimi was giving an earnest wiggle—it was the first adrenaline that got her energized.

Mimi’s face tightened as she felt herself being dragged around the canvas, her body pulled and twisted by the cruel control her opponent had managed to secure. The grip on her ponytail was irritating more than anything, not just because of the pain, but because Mimi hated feeling like someone else was deciding where she went. She planted her palms against the mat, trying to find some leverage while her legs were trapped between Spectre’s own.
“Seriously?” Mimi hissed through clenched teeth, a smirk still trying to creep through despite her predicament. “You’re acting like you just caught the biggest fish in the ocean.”
She shifted her hips, refusing to stay still. The more Spectre tried to roll her around, the more Mimi fought the momentum, using every bit of her agility to make the movement awkward. She kicked her legs against the scissor hold, trying to create even the smallest opening while her hands reached back, searching for a way to break that controlling grip on her hair.
But she wasn’t panicking. Not yet.
Because this was what her opponent wanted. She wanted Mimi frustrated. She wanted her scrambling and reacting instead of thinking. The realization only made Mimi’s grin grow wider.
“Oh, I get it now…” Mimi muttered, twisting her shoulders and attempting to roll with Spectre’s motion instead of against it. “You don’t want to beat me. You just want to play with me.”
With a sudden burst of energy, Mimi drove her feet into the mat and tried to shift her weight underneath Spectre, attempting to turn the awkward position into something she could use. Her body had been tossed around, but she wasn’t broken down. If anything, the struggle was waking her up.
“You should know something about me…” Mimi said, her voice carrying that same playful confidence. “The more you push me around, the more fun I have pushing back.”
She gave another sharp twist, trying to free herself from the ponytail control and force enough space between them to start fighting her way back up. The match had finally started feeling like a fight and Mimi Monroe was always at her best when things got messy.
