Mission 02: I don't negotiate with terrorists (Marceline vs. Spectre)

Post by Over mainyu »

The first of 3 match:
First to score 3 points via pin, submission, or knockout wins

Today felt really strange...

Too strange for the general. She was scheduled for another fight today, but she hadn’t seen her sister, Ana, at all throughout the day. This was honestly starting to worry the General. Lately, they’d been closer than ever thanks to this “stragglers” thing, and because he was her manager during the fights and always accompanied her everywhere at the company, speaking up for her since Marcy had gone silent. She asked the rest of her team to look for her everywhere and tried to reach Yuki for more information or to find out if Ana was with him, but he wasn’t answering either. She hoped he was just so busy with his security work at this company and with that “L.A.W. intruder” business that he hadn’t answered her calls.

But still, today she had to go out and fight. This time against a “supervillain” known as Specter, notorious for her dirty tricks in the ring and for being this “vile evil being.” Of course, Marceline didn’t take this seriously, just like all the gimmicks and characters in this company. What she did take seriously, however, was analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of her opponent tonight. She took note of every dirty trick Specter might pull and, in the process, learned of the existence of Dot, Specter’s evil accomplice, who could interfere in the match. To counter her ally, she had three of her friends inside the arena to back her up in case of interference, while the rest were on the lookout for her commander’s henchmen.

Now it was her turn to take the stage first to kick off the show; she just took a deep breath and walked out onto the ramp as soon as her entrance music began to play. As was her custom, she presented herself to the audience with a serious and composed demeanor at all times, despite her situation, beginning to walk slowly but imposingly in front of the crowd, maintaining the bearing of an almost untouchable fighter, as if she were the true leader of an army. Just like last time, the audience’s reaction was mixed. This wasn’t so much because she was a controversial figure, but rather because of her lack of charisma in the ring.

That’s how she made her way to the ring, which she entered by climbing over the third rope just to head to her designated corner and wait for her “villainous” opponent of the day for a best-of-five-fall match. The first wrestler to score three points would win the match. As she prepared mentally, she still couldn’t get the disappointment over her sister out of her head. And something just wasn’t right today.

summoned the stadium’s attention to the Virus. The sudden drop of techno lasted only a faint few seconds before it faded and the stadium sparked from its spotlights, banners and Titantrons. The monitors backstage also cut from power. A full blackout that lasted all but five seconds. Her Chrome Skull flashed onto screens, monitors and banners. A purple spotlight shone far above the rafters.

, dressed in her waist-high leotard and purple-black cape, stood in the light’s centre. But not any Virus. One instead of night purple and jet black; but a red and black. Her eyes are also vividly scarlet. Her outline glowed with faint vapours coming off her ‘skin.’ Beneath her ‘presence’ was a four-wheel drone with an inverted pyramid base with a spinning light diode casting a pre-recorded sequence. It streamed on the Titantron, tracked by a flying drone that was flying at head level. With stern eyes, she thrust her hand out towards the drone, grabbing the air and hollering… “The Show’s now MINEEEE!” That voice spread through every soundsystem. Not just the livefeed, but all channels to smother their comms in her new scheme. The crowd jeered. Spectre walked the rafters around to her rigging, hand behind her back. “Marceline Diaz….. Oh I’ve been waiting for this chance, General. Talk about prudishness. All that white clothing. The posture, the stare. . Fufufu~ It’s just like a wrapped present. So many layers to unwrap. I bet that skin bruises like a peach. And those eyes water just the same.”

The drone-Spectre turned and continued across the metal walkway. At the very end, there was a gap to fall. Spectre stoppped at the edge and gestured towards the black gap. “Behold!” A new purple spotlight unveiled the punchmeats of Yuki and Ana Díaz in the flesh with wrists shackled and their waists anchored to the base by short chains. The cages themselves hung above the arena on steel chains. “A little guarantee.” Her grin turned wicked, teeth-bearing and heaving heavy breath from her shoulders. The voice’s enthusiasm surged with the volume. The ring corners suddenly started spilling mist and shooting up purple flames. They rose and fell to the sound levels. And once the ring-side was swallowed in harmless purple mist (this time), the real Spectre emerged from beneath the ring and slid beneath the bottom rope. She stood behind Marceleine as an outlined shadow. The hologram continued. “Try and claim victory and I’ll zap them to my content. I'll keep them until I'm bored! Aaaahahahaha!” Laughed the Virus in a head throwback towards the ceiling.

The villainous hologram suddenly disappeared from view. The lights returned to normal colours. And right behind Marceline was Spectre’s swinging shin attempting to thread the General’s legs and destroy her cunt before the bell even rang!

Her rival was about to arrive; those chants and her techno music reverberated throughout the stadium, which greeted her with a sea of boos until suddenly everything went dark for a moment, and then all the screens revealed her symbol: her chrome skull, which for many was a bad omen, and this day would be no exception.

Marceline considered this an unnecessary spectacle, but it was something almost everyone at this company did, so it didn’t bother her. In fact, her own teammates had told her they wanted one of these crazy, expensive tickets, while she preferred to keep things simple. At that moment, her opponent for the night appeared, but not as she had expected. At first, she didn’t understand what was going on, but after taking a closer look, she realized it was a reddish hologram, as if her entire body were stained with blood, and it was being transmitted by a drone, clearly a drone projecting a pre-recorded message, which appeared before everyone at a deafening volume. Then it began playing the message her opponent had recorded for this occasion. The audio was of her speaking about the leader of the Misfits in a somewhat provocative tone, mentioning things as if she knew secrets the general wanted to hide, and despite maintaining her unflinching composure, the virus’s words left her intrigued, and things weren’t about to get any better...

At that moment, Specter revealed that she had her two younger siblings, Ana and Yuki, chained and suspended from a cage. Marceline’s face, which had been so stern and expressionless, was now one of utter terror and fear. How the hell was this happening? How could she let this happen? How was she going to get them out of there? Her head was flooded with questions as old, horrible memories came flooding back to mind, experiences she didn’t want to remember. After that, the entire arena filled with purple smoke, and flames shot out from the corners in time with the music. Then the hologram delivered its final message before fading away: if the General won, or if this terrorist got bored, she would release her siblings to certain death.

Once the drone was turned off, the real villain was in the ring, where she had been waiting beneath the ropes so that her “show” would distract Marceline and allow her to ambush her from behind, striking her directly in the groin before the match even began. But even though she knew something about Marceline’s hidden past, there were two things she didn’t know about Marceline: 1. You can’t surprise Marceline, and 2. You shouldn’t mess with her family. Before the kick reached her groin, the Perfect Soldier also intercepted it with her hands. And it was at that moment that she looked the virus in the eyes, and the Unmovable Object shot a death glare at her rival for what she had done. Quickly, she planted one foot on the supervillain’s chest, then thrust it upward toward her chin, striking with all her might. She had no intention of surrendering to someone like The World Blight, and she was going to save her siblings no matter what it took.
