Katsumi's looks
Katsumi Saito was making no effort to contain her awe. The woman was going to make her debut in LAW in just some minutes but even someone with her cheerful attitude had to admit that she was feeling a little bit taken aback by everything. For the time that passed since she arrived from the lockers she had been gazing from backstage at the stadium that made LAW’s arena. To say she was impressed would be to understate how Kat was feeling. She had come far since she started wrestling in the indie leagues and now she had just some instants to contemplate and reflect on that. The arenas she was used to were simple tents, sometimes on some guy’s back yard with some dozens of foldable chairs and a makeshift ring that barely stood. Now she was looking at an enormous stadium and at a crowd of thousands cheered in expectancy for the next match to start. Same applied to mostly anything: attires used to be makeshift looking and simple, now her black wrestling gear looked incredible and sturdy while remaining comfortable, the arena was equipped with the best of the best in terms of lightning or cameras and the staff was everythere. Every little detail was taken care of. It was all like some sort of wrestling-related dream...
“Um… Ms. Saito?”
Suddenly, Katsumi popped out of her dream-like state to notice a young woman with some headset on one of her ears, tablet on her hands and a LAW T-shirt that identified her as a member of the backstage staff.
“O-oh! Sorry! I was just...” Katsumi blushed a little, embarrassed at being caught daydreaming on her debut day.
“Don’t worry. I get it.", said the woman with a smile that eased Kat's embarrasment. "I was just saying that we have 1 minute until your entrance, so get ready.” The staff member looked at the arena. “Impressive, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, always dreamed with making it to the big leagues, but now that I’m here I'm not sure if I'm dreaming or not...”
“Well, you’re gonna love this.” She checked her tablet. “30 seconds. Relax and have fun!”
With the staff member gone, Katsumi had just enough time to get a couple deep breaths and let the sensation of her upcoming debut sink in. Then the lights went on and her theme started blasting through the arena, and that’s how Katsumi Saito, the Samurai Gunslinger, made her first appearance in LAW.
Kat was going for an energetic and positive approach to her wrestling persona, more or less how she was in real life but going hyper, so as she walked down the entrance ramp she made a slow jog while doing her best to rouse the crowd, signalling to them and giving high fives while challenging everyone to be louder, a challenge they took in a positive way. “Who’s ready for a good showww? Come on, make some noise for me!!!” Seeing the crowd’s reaction Katsumi started growing on her persona. It was great to have a big crowd like that being so receptive, and even if the indie leagues had a great kind of crowd support it couldn’t compare to what she was experiencing at that moment.
The debutant didn’t want to linger for much longer. She didn’t want her entrance to drag and offend her rival so she made it inside the ring and gave every corner of the arena some of her finger pistols as the finish of her entrance, which received a standing ovation. Then Kat went to her corner where she stretched a little bit. She might looked composed and focused, but inside she was exultant. It somehow felt like she had always belonged there. Now the only thing that remained was to meet her rival and start her formal LAW debut, and she couldn’t wait.
