Really, what were the odds of this?

Sure, Blair wasn't the only Muay Thai practitioner in LAW. It wasn't uncommon for wrestlers to dip their toes into other styles in order to help broaden their skillset, especially in the wake of MMA rising to prominence. Nor was it uncommon for wrestlers to start out with a history in another discipline, as Blair herself had done. It also wouldn't be the first time a wrestling promotion had decided to experiment by featuring other styles on the same card as wrestling matches, and LAW had done that plenty of times. But what truly took Blair Yuen by surprise was the knowledge that she wasn't even the only lightweight Asian Canadian Muay Thai user in LAW. With that background in mind, a match between her and Gabrielle Minato seemed inevitable. But LAW was getting more daring with this one - not only would two Muay Thai practitioners face off, it would be under kickboxing rules, with only strikes allowed. All things considered, Blair wasn't going to complain about that. Submissions were never her strong point, even after she'd started training in them to give her an edge in her MMA career. And perhaps a return to form would do her good.

"Coming first to the ring, from Vancouver, British Columbia! Standing at 5'1 and weighing 110 pounds, BLAIR YUEN!!"

As Blair's theme music came over the speakers, the Little Dragon of Muay Thai stepped out from behind the curtain, holding a fist in the air. As she came down to the ring, she stopped and propped her feet up on the apron, unlacing her boots and slipping them off. She wouldn't need them in a true kickboxing match, and it would help her reconnect with her roots - she'd never exactly gotten used to fighting with shoes on. As she slipped in under the bottom rope and came to rest in her corner, Blair took a long, deep breath, rolling her shoulders as she stared out at the entrance ramp. She hadn't had the best of luck in LAW to date, no matter how hard she tried to prove that she did have a future after all. But this time, she would be competing in a familiar environment, against an opponent who made use of a style she understood in and out. Maybe this really was the chance she had been waiting for.

"I believe in you, Gabs! I know you can do it!" cheered Amy from behind the curtain.

Gabbie never expected to find a worthy match in LAW, a fellow Nak Muay to be exact. She hoped that she could befriend her new opponent with her own fists and feet. With her own determination and motivation from both her crush Daiki and her elder sister Amy, she stepped out of the curtain as soon as "Ready Go!!" by AXL21 blared from the speakers.

She was clad in a white sports bra with light blue trim and a pair of light blue MMA shorts with white stripes down either side of her hips and a pair white fingerless gloves with a red maple leaf on top and the Union Jack on the bottom. A blue hair scarf shaped like a bunny's ears adorned the Canadian nak muay's fluffy and messy pink-tipped blonde hair. As soon as she reached the ring, she removed her boxing hood and clenched her fist as she saw Blair.

"Well then, nice to meet you. I look forward to a good fight!" said Gabbie.

Now, with her opponent coming through the curtains, Blair readied herself for battle. She held her back straight, her stance going stiff as she balled a fist and pounded it against her palm. Her eyes focused on Gabbie with all the intent of a laser, never leaving her for a moment. This was just like old times, she thought to herself. After all the ups and downs of her time in MMA and pro wrestling, she was finally in a Muay Thai match against another skilled fighter, one who no doubt was every bit as trained and disciplined as she was. Just like where she was at the height of her career. Before it all.

Blair was nearly undefeated in Muay Thai - but it was that nearly part that stung most of all, lingering in the back of her mind as the one loss she could never make up for, and that started her on a streak of crushing defeats that cast a dark cloud over her career. If she was back in Muay Thai now, though, maybe this was finally her chance to make up for it. If she could best Gabbie at her own game, maybe it was the start of something greater. Maybe this was her comeback - her chance to show the world how skilled she really was in her style of choice.

"Time we saw how much we really do have in common," Blair said, nodding her head to the blonde in agreement with her challenge.

*DING DING DING*

As soon as the bell rang, Blair lifted her fists and bent a little lower at the knees, moving in closer to Gabbie. She kept her eyes on her the whole way through - she couldn't let her out of her sight, lest her loss of focus cost her. But she was still out to make a strong showing right from the get-go. She would extend her arms, going to get them around her opponent's neck for a clinch, but as soon as they were in range, she would try and swing her knee straight upward to stab into Gabbie's side!
