Serena breathed deep, shaking her head to recover from a move that cost her a lot in terms of her small remaining energy. The flying bodysplash from the corner looked like an affordable move for her and also like a proper way of sealing Cassandra’s fate in that match, but it didn’t come for free for the Siren who was actually running on fumes. If that move had failed the blonde wasn’t so sure of having been able to recover, hence the previous use of snapmares to set Cassandra for the improvised finishing move.

From her position, Serena had the first proper look to assess the situation. It had cost her some seconds to recover, but she was the first one to do so. She looked besides her and noticed Cassandra lying on the mat, seemingly too tired or dazed to realize. Hector would walk around the ringside, and for the first time he looked actually worried about that night’s gauntlet outcome. Good. With some of the small amount of energy she had in store, Serena made a lackluster crawl until she reached Cassandra, hooking one of her legs to get a pin going in her final hope for sealing that match. The referee quickly reacted and started the count.

Cassandra, lying on the mat, seemed to summon the last reserves of her strength. The struggle between determination and exhaustion played out on her face as she fought against the gravitational pull of defeat. Hector's shouts became more fervent, his desperation palpable.

he roared, fists clenched in anticipation. The crowd, ever fickle, shifted their support, some applauding Cassandra's resilience, while others intensified their cheers for Serena, urging her to press on and claim victory!

Serena was completely exhausted, but her resolve was adamant. She had endured a lot that night and knew that she had victory at her grasp with that final move. The only remaining thing was to maintain the pin for three seconds and she would have her win. Fate had other things in store for her though. Just instants before the count could reach three and seal the gauntlet Cassandra managed to muster enough strength to break the pinning maneuver, saving her prospects on the match in an energetic display of strength and resilience.

The crowd was divided from that outcome: some rewarded Cassandra’s display of willpower and strength while others tried their best to help Serena push forwards. Truth was that the Siren wasn’t expecting Cassandra to survive past that pin. The blonde had taken everything everyone shot at her and retaliated, but now she was approaching her limit and in a way her will was waning. She could just remain there, sitting on the mat with a dazzled expression on her face as the Lioness got up, wondering what else would it take to defeat that woman and if she had it in store to do it.

As Cassandra lined up against the ropes, preparing to launch her last-ditch effort with a Spear, Serena's weary form came into focus. The crowd's cheers and jeers merged into a chaotic symphony, but Cassandra's focus remained unwavering.

Cassandra proved having some adamant determination to stay alive in the match despite anything Serena threw at her, and in the end speaking in terms of energy the Siren was at the losing end of things just based on how long she had been fighting.

Just when the Siren was getting up and wondering what could she do to end that match when Cassandra was surviving everything, the Lioness charged at the blonde with energy that matched her wrestling monicker. The movement was fast and fierce, but also somehow sluggish and gave Serena just enough time to fall on her knees and make a roll for it so she would be out of the way when the Lioness passed through with her spear, missing her target and setting the Big Cat for a pretty nasty landing.

The fatigue was creeping into her muscles, but her determination pushed her forward, propelling her into the spear with the force of a lioness pouncing on its prey.

But as she lunged forward, Serena dropped to her knees and rolled away with a desperate agility, leaving Cassandra to hit nothing but air. The realization hit her a split second too late, and Cassandra's momentum carried her forward uncontrollably. She crashed into the turnbuckle with a sickening thud, the impact jarring her body and sending waves of pain through her.
