"Hey, LAW fans! Kimberly Kulp here with a special treat for you. I think we would all agree that one unique trait, one facet of our personalities, that almost all of us share is that we dream-"
Kimberly could see it before it happened. Someone walking into her shot. Her shoulders slumping, she started to direct the oncoming woman somewhere besides gorilla, which was busy enough. At least the stagehands knew to give her a few feet to record. But once the figure stepped into the light, Kimberly recognized Florence Timmons, one-half of the participants in this debut match. The half who was not debuting tonight and the one who Kimberly was not slated to interview, but here she was nonetheless. Flo looked shocked to see her.
"Kimmy Kulp! You here to make a big deal of my match?"
Kimberly offered her best agreeable smile though annoyance tickled at her. And where in the world had she gotten the name "Kimmy"? She didn't bother to correct her. "That's right. I'm doing a quick interview piece on your opponent, Reina. She should be here in a second. Aren't you early? I didn't think anyone called you."
The woman hopped onto a crate and promptly started swinging her legs like a schoolgirl. "Yeah, but I have to pace around or I go crazy sitting in the locker room. And what gives? I didn't get an interview. When's mine coming?", she asked. Kimberly could tell by the look on the woman's face that she wasn't being serious - not entirely, anyway. Kimberly began to answer her before a stagehand tapped her on the shoulder.
"Reina incoming."
"Oh, good." Kimberly straightened her clothing again. "We'll record the intro later, Charlie. Hey, Reina! Over here!" She flicked a finger down the hall where the stagehand indicated Reina was headed her way. Okay. Regroup. Good interview. She cut her eyes back over to Flo. "You just hold right there, and we can talk about your interview after the match."
Flo nodded, but somehow, Kimberly didn't buy the truth of it in those mischievous eyes.
