The Heartbreakers vs. Irish Oldschool

Peggy was down and out, struggling meekly as she was pinned to the mat! She groaned and her struggles were seen by Lauren who was climbing through the ropes to try to scramble over in time to break up the pin!

"TWO!"

The big woman was running moving as quickly as she could to try to break up that pin before the three count, hoping that no one on the other team could stop her from making the save for Peggy who was not going to be kicking out of this one on her own!

Up until this point, Lauren had stood by following the rules. She and Peggy held themselves to be honest, hard-working women who didn't need to take the low road to succeed, and when they were up against opponents as disreputable as the Heartbreakers, the burden was on them to prove they could triumph against their deeds. Unfortunately for them, things hadn't worked out quite the way they'd intended. They might have had a promising lead, but the Heartbreakers had managed to pull ahead with their underhanded double-team offense on Peggy, and now the Irishwoman simply couldn't get up.

Now, as Misako had her leg hooked and the ref was counting the pin, Peggy had no hope of escaping; Kyoko's kicks alone had left her stunned, and then they'd piled on even more on top of that. If Irish Oldschool wanted to win, Lauren was going to have to swallow her pride. But the dangers if she didn't were too great.

Just as the ref held her hand up for the third count, Lauren slipped through the ropes. She took off running straight toward Misako in the hopes of intercepting her in time to break up the pin. This, she knew, would be her last shot; if she didn't get there, it would all be over...

But it was just then that Kyoko rolled in through the ropes - and, sprinting toward Lauren, she was ready to meet her with an interference of her own! Just as the heavyweight got close, Kyoko hurled herself toward her, swinging out her legs with a dropkick aimed at Lauren's chest! It struck her just as the referee's hand came down a third time - and with that, the match was over!

"THREE!!"

No sooner had the bell been rung that the crowd erupted in boos. By all means, Irish Oldschool deserved this win, but the Heartbreakers had found a way to steal that from them at the last minute, even after all else they'd put them through! But it was too late, and the referee had already made the call - victory would go to the Heartbreakers!

Lauren was smashed to the mat by the dropkick, landing hard and laying on her back cradling her chest as she kicked the mat in pain.

Meanwhile Peggy howled in agony, also kicking the mat before rolling to her side to cover her face in shame. She couldn't believe she lost after her team controlled things for so long! A few moves and Peggy was beat. Her face was red with embarrassment and she was very much ashamed of herself. She couldn't even look up at Lauren, the other team or the crowd right now.

Lauren tried to get up and make her way to Peggy, more than happy to shove the other team away if they were still hovering around her partner. Lauren silently tried to roll Peggy towards the ropes to help her towards the back where the two women could once again go back to the drawing board and try to figure out how to win a match as a team as well as solo.
