Jessica was growing tired of it all. Every single day she got up bright and early so that she could run and lift to make sure that she had enough stamina and strength for her matches. Some of her training had resulted in wins, victories that saw her rise in prominence among the wrestling milieu. But some of her training amounted to nothing as she lost squeakers of matches where she made it all the way to the final bell before coming up just that little bit short.
She was looking at herself in the mirror now. The Violent Violet wondered what sort of night it would be for her. She had looked up her opponent. April was a pretty woman, Jessica had to admit. And she looked tough too. As she stood there alone in her dressing room her deep insecurity bubbled up within her and wondered if somewhere, April had looked her up.
Jessica rose from her chair. Why wouldn't she want to look up this, she thought as she looked in the mirror.

Jessica emerged to a hearty mix of cheers and boos. The Violent Violet walked down to the ring, waving at them. She had not yet learned to smile as she did so, and the intensity on her face showed how serious she was. Jessica slipped under the bottom rope and backed into her corner. All of her muscles had been stretched out, and Jessica was ready to rumble.
Time to see if this girl knows what she is getting into, Jessica thought.
