Sheila Chihara [D] vs. Ashley Lucas

With Ashley letting go, Sheila's legs flopped to the mat, laying the dark-haired girl out on her back. Her head was turned to the side, and her chest rose and fell as she panted softly for breath, her head still spinning in a daze. Sheila had fought hard, doing her best to outlast whatever Ashley could throw at her and fighting back with all her might. For a while, it looked like she might even stand a chance of defeating her more experienced foe. But in the end, Ashley managed to reverse things just when Sheila had her in her sights, about to deliver a finisher - and coming straight into a counter instead.

Slowly, she rolled up to her knees, taking in a few pants for breath. She brought an arm up to wipe sweat from her brow, shaking out her hair. "Did...I win?" Sheila murmured to herself, before looking back and surmising the answer from the sight of Ashley posed triumphantly with a fist lifted in the air. "...oh."

Despite having lost, Sheila wasn't particularly perturbed. On one level, she was too fatigued to give much thought about it either way. But beyond that, she knew that she had given it her all - and the fact that she had done this well against a main roster member was commendable in and of itself. Whether she had won or lost, Sheila had still proven that she deserved her place in the ring. And that was all she needed.

Soon, a grin spread over her face, and she took Ashley's hand, accepting to offer to guide her to her feet. She was shaky on her footing, but with Ashley's help she was soon able to stand at her side. "It really was, huh? You did a great job out there...I really didn't see that last move coming!"

Ashley held Sheila's arm higher, the two of them turning to look out on the crowd. It was there that Sheila's grin began to grow even wider. Just as many of those cheers, she knew, were aimed at her, and she met them with pride, lifting her chin to the sky. Tonight, everyone had seen what Sheila Chihara was capable of - and there were plenty, no doubt, who couldn't wait to see more.
