Salem Taylors vs Yunyun Tachibana

Training, training...training! Aside from a mix-up with a phoenix gal the other day, Salem had done nothing but get ready for a match that wasn't happening! What was a patience test that Salem knew she could handle was turning into a grueling and torturous wait. All Salem had known for so long was the ring and going at it, she hardly did anything else the first week and a half. The Shooting Star was getting antsy like someone who hadn't had their cup coffee in the morning, almost ready to throw the gauntlet down just to feel something again.

But, eventually early on a Wednesday morning, it happened. Salem was already heading to the arena to get an early workout session in, walking along a not so busy street. A buzz from her new phone alarmed her, and she hurriedly opened it. Salem had done this a half dozen times before just this week, as her natural reaction was to assume she'd gotten a text for a match offer or scheduled pairing. This time though, her face lit up...it was! She was apparently scheduled in today's lineup against a Yunyun Tachibana, a local wrestler she assumed. A quick search showed no history of matches, at least under her name specifically. A Rei Tachibana came up, a lot actually, but she assumed it must've either been a relative or an entirely different person!

"YES!!! Ok, breathe...breathe," Salem reminded herself, continuing to make her way downtown. She had plenty of time to get herself prepared, mentally reset herself after this rush of excitement. Even still, the pink haired newcomer was giddy with anticipation all the way down the street until she got there!

Yunyun's time in LAW so far had been uneventful, to say the least. She had received not even a lick of interest from the executives about anything, and her aunt Rei was always far too busy to notice her. She spent mist of her time watching her aunt's matches, or going to venues and seeing other matches live. She occasionally popped around to a gym or a hot springs too, just to get out of the house.

That all changed one fateful day though, when her phone ringtone blared at her while she was watching Rei's championship winning match for the 8th time. She stopped the video and looked at the message, and she couldnt believe her eyes. She was acheduled to have her debut, at long last, against another newbie, one Salem Taylors. A quick background check found not a bit of anything about her, so she has to be a debutant too. But there was obe issue. It was a stabdard match, something she had never done before. Granted, she had seen a few, but never expected to do any.

But she had waited too long for her debut, and now, it was time for that debut to happen. On the day of the match, she arrived early and got changed into her regular attire, making sure everything was snug. She was understandably highly nervous, but she couldnt let that show. She had to go out there and put on a show. Soon enough, the previous match ended, and she saw the last 2 fighters leave the ring, one looking worse than the other. And then, her theme played, and she stepped out into the limelight.

She pranced down the walkway, waving to the crowd, whom looked rather indifferent, though a few cheers could be heard around the stadium, before stumbling into the ring, which enticed a couple of chuckles, and even the ref struggled to maintain composure. Afterwards, she walked to her corner and leaned against the turnbuckle, waiting for Salem to arrive.

Salem watched from backstage as her opponent made her entrance, frowning a bit at the lack of cheers from the crowd. Whilst Yunyun was her opponent, she still hoped for a tad bit of respect and excitement for her from the fans! The lackluster entrance finished with the smaller wrestler resting in the corner.

"You're on in 15 seconds Taylors!" a member of the crew signaled to her, and the debuting Shooting Star got ready! She was surprisingly nervous; one would expect a veteran like Salem to be used to this feeling by now, but it returned! A wave of butterflies filled her gut, and she couldn't even process it until her music popped! A mixture of retro gaming tunes and electronic pop, the strange Mashup signaled her arrival.

Rushing out to the ring, Salem got quite a bit more cheers although it still wasn't much in comparison to her typical crowds. A quick hop onto the apron, Salem took to few seconds to wave and smile around the crowd, getting them more involved! Then, she'd go to her corner, offering the same smile and wave to Yunyun. In a way, it was for the pink haired gal to calm her own emotions, which were still unnaturally stirring.

Yunyun heard her opponents theme play out, and it was certainly a spectacle for the ears, something that Yunyun was not expecting. She watched as Salem came up to the ring, the crowd being noticably more vocal to Salem than they had to herself, which let her down a little. But she couldn't let that stop her, she had to try and win the crowd's approval, and the only way to do that was to put on a show.

Yunyun waved back to Salem as a gesture of goodwill towards her opponent, before starting to think of ways to get past the woman in front of her and make her debut a victorious one. But there was one major issue, she still had no idea how to wrestle. Perhaps the best way would be to simply try and defend herself and pray that Salem slips up somewhere? Or should she just swing and pray? Both the crowd and Salem were unaware of Yunyun's lack of experience, but they would soon find out!

The cries of the crowd were goading the pair on to start, the match about to begin! Salem, being oh so ignorant of her opponent's lack of experience, took a few steps away from her corner. Slouching just a tad, she entered a stance with her hands up, that warm smile still on her face. Mouthing to Yunyun, "goodluck" it's immediately followed by the loud DING DING~!

Like a sleeper agent activated by the sound of the bell, Salem didn't waste any time! Still believing her opponent had a semblance of experience, she went to go for a lockup, arms entangling together! She wanted to give her all in this match, even if it meant confronting her opponent directly like this! It has been so long since she had been in the ring, she wanted to keep her momentum from where she left off!

If there was anything Yunyun did know about wrestling, it was that matches usually started with a lockup, and when Salem put up her arms, Yunyun recognised it immediately. She nodded and stepped forwards as the bell tolled, moving intona position and locking up in an classic lockup, their arms entangling together, though this was when Yunyun's inexperience started to show.

Yunyun's lockup wasnt particularly stable, certainly less so than Salens, so when the two began to struggle, Yunyun was already on the back foot. She gritted her teeth as Salem began to slowly take the initiative, realisibg that her opponent was not as new as she was!

Whilst Salem got the early lead in the lockup, she chalked it up to her earlier skills gained from years overseas. She was still excited to see hat Yunyun could do, ignorant to the blunt truth right in front of her eyes!

Thinking of what to do next, Salem continued to physically overpower the shorter woman, something the former wasn't used to! Then, she went to strike.

Taking a large step forward, Salem went to break the lock in a superior position! Whilst Yunyun was still processing, she'd try to press her advantage further and wrap her arms around her torso. Then, she'd try to lift her into the air just enough to lock in a solid bearhug! For some reason, it was the only, albeit not quite as effective move, that she could think of. She could feel her cheeks were flush, her head rushing, Salem paused mentally...was she actually getting a bit of stage fright?!

Unsurprisingly for Yunyun, she was quickly overpowered, and Salem was easily able to get into the dominant position. Yunyun expected something brutal to come from her opponent, such as a big boot to the face or a DDT, but instead, Salem decided to go in for a bearhug. Some of the crowd questioned her decision, but followed it anyway, considering it was one of the more arousing moves that wasnt inheritly explicit.

Yunyun, however, could feel her body getting squeezed. Salem was certainly quite powerful, and with her arms trapped, 2 of her limbs were out of action. Desperate for a way out, Yunyun kicked wildly, hoping that one of her kicks struck Salem in the shin or foot, causing enough damage to set her free, and get ready for a counterattack!

Salem was half in the match and in her head without even realizing it. She was squeezing her opponent tight, but couldn't help but get lost in the why of her own nerves. Was it her opponent, the new space, new country...was she rusty? Questions rattled in her head as her arms subconsciously went to work at the back of her opponent.

Just then, WHACK! A wild, frantic kick slams against Salem's left shin and causes her support in standing falter quite quickly and dramatically. Parts of the prevoously quiet crowd grew to life seeing this, perhsos earning some respect for the newbie in Yunyun. The worst part was her having such a close hold; the now free Yunyun watching as Salem starts to tumble to the ground!

Yunyun has gotgen lucky, one of her blind kicks struck true, and her opponent was now keeling over, struggling to deal with the pain in her shin. Now that she had the upper hand in this match, Yunyun needed to decide what to do next. Seeing Salem's head in front of her, undefended, she decided to use that to her advantage.

She took hold of her opponents head and struck her knee into it once, before pushing her opponent back to the floor, before giving her knee a rub due to how much force she put into it.
