With previous obligations cleared for the near-future, I've come to move on making "The Madison Gambit!"
Lets set the scene:
INTRODUCTION
You can find most of the following recap here: In this thread
Your character is jumping into a three-day weekend at Hotel Madison, or simply called Madisons for short, a Gatsby and prohibition-themed hotel ( 1920s and 30s ). When they arrive, given their accommodation and a welcoming gift, they’re notified to take part in a taping for a unique LAW production, set to air the following week with releases on PPV, the LAW Network and DVDs.
One of the core selling points for fans, producers, management and wrestlers, was the setting and experience. Matches take place in an abundance of areas, often mixing members of the public and the regular operations of the hotel with the on-going action. NOTE: You are free to interpret or interact with the Hotel however you wish, use NPCs, including Maisilyn, how you see fit, create new areas or choose to ignore the setting for the match content.
The Hotel itself is a mix of older furnishings, colourful velvet ceilings and walls, leathers, silk curtains, chandeliers, varnished wood trims, some whites, gold trims on the walls, clean, steam-pressed and old-fashioned luxury. It comes with amenities, a speakeasy-themed jazz club and restaurant, a cocktail bar on a higher floor, penthouse suites and an ensemble of staff dedicated to your every need.
In a wrestler’s downtime, they are able to enjoy this Hotel itself. Whether it’s losing your last pay stub at one of the secret gambling booths, local musical performances, drinking to a cabaret performance or comedy in the Open Bottle, karaoke in the cocktail bar, the pool and spa experience or abusing room service with whatever nice or absurd wish. It’s all 24/7 and expense paid when it comes to Maisilyn’s Gambit to renew her hotel’s prestige.

- ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Nothing except filling out a google form at the page's bottom!
Considering the setting, I thought to provide some open-ended ideas that will assist in idea making. I want to stress, though, that this isn’t meant to dictate what you can do. In-fact, the most important idea is:
- YOUR IDEA: Make up any concept and have it take place anywhere in the Hotel. Add-in new areas as you see fit. Sky's the limit!
- Fights in The Open Bottle: Themed after speakeasies, this restaurant and Jazz Club has been repurposed with a wrestling ring at its heart, surrounded by a crowd at tables and chairs. This attraction is perfect for: Boxing, Pro Wrestling, Hardcore and Sexfights of any stipulation. You may find people dining, drinking at the door, standing and watching, and themed hotel waitresses and waiters.
- Fights in the Hotel Rooms: For all your bedroom-flavoured, apartment-centric and bed match joy. Whatever the heart may desire, with preparations made to accommodate for the wrestler’s needs and their match. Remember to thank her maids!
- Fights in an Open Area: For all your Falls Count Anywhere needs, Maisilyn is willing to offer her entire Hotel as a battleground. (Outside occupied rooms). Trash up the cocktail bar on the upper flow, smash up the giant mirrors in her gym or powerbomb each other into the reception desk. Just be mindful of other guests!
- Penthouse Suite: Albeit limited in its number, Maisilyn offers their finest rooms saved for the travelling billionaire or trust fund kid. Winners may have the rest of the weekend more extensive room service options.
- Outside: For all those that want a street fight vibe with all the concrete, blood and parking lot carnage to a ring of fans. Feel free to use anything at your disposal. While Hotel Madison does not officially condone the smashing of cars, supplying of weapons or swanton bombing into the dumpsters, they won’t complain either. Just please, PLEASE stay off the roof and staff elevators. She already had three keys go missing… she wonders where they went. Hmmm. Oh well.
- Escape to the Limo: For the LAW-less crowd. A game of manhunter that starts typically from a high floor for the hunted, to which they must descend the floors and escape to the limo without being pinned or submitted. While it only REALLY needs two players, it can easily be extended into an extravaganza where it’s them vs the World, where anyone can strike. Sufficient quantities of ankle monitors and hand-held trackers are provided to account for the large spaces. The rules are yours to decide. ( TIP: Logistically the hardest concept, but can be made easier by using your wider rosters! )
Simplified Summary of What You’re Buying Into
- You are buying into writing a match or social thread at an old-fashioned hotel venue with an owner who acts like a mob boss.
- For the ideas listed: Idea 6 is a parking lot FIGHT with cars, objects, weapons and people. Think this: or
- Idea 7 is just LAW-less rules / a game of wrestling manhunter to get into a limo. Two players to an ensemble. If you want my tip, using your wider roster can certainly be a solution to making a montage of action without the logistical nightmare of having six people.
- Idea 4 is FCA inside the hotel.
- Idea 5 and 3 are inside hotel rooms. Penthouse suite and regular accommodation.
- Idea 2 is a normal ring in a jazz club/restaurant, with people at tables instead of rows of chairs. But you’re ultimately free to make-up anything else.
- Any stipulation or weight class. Any gender.
- Maisilyn and any hotel NPC is free to use. Or, I can assist.
- You’re free to interpret the hotel however you want. ( Prompt: 1930s / Prohibition-Era / Old Fashion Luxury / Gatsby )
- You don’t have to worry about ANYTHING except for writing the match you want to or the social thread you want to. Forget everything in the background if it impedes you.
Prizes and Incentives?
UNLIKELY!
I don’t feel like this concept really makes much sense and makes it more game show than what I think the event is aiming for. This is one element that I proposed in the interest check, but didn't make the final cut.

Downtime?
Wrestlers have a good amount of downtime between preparations, training and wrestling, typically in the evenings and mornings. Live Entertainment is available in the Open Bottle and the cocktail bar. Stand-up comedy, a circus routine, magic shows and some cabaret theatre. LAW wrestlers and staff are able to book themselves a slot, but music-related entertainment is saved for the evenings. These are not part of any footage-gathering.
When it comes to room situations, Maisilyn has an eye on rivals, who’s liked and who’s hated, and might try to put them side-by-side. Sky’s the limit on what you do in the setting!

Maisilyn / Hotel / NPCs
She is an optionable host for matches and any interaction you may need. You’re allowed to use her and any employee as you please. Interpret her however. Although I don't expect anyone to use her, I figured the option wouldn't be a negative.
Touchstones for her character:
Willy Wonka (Warner Bros), Don Salieri (Mafia 1), Alastor (Hazbin Hotel), Integra Hellsing (Hellsing Ultimate) and Lucifer Morningstar (Lucifer TV Drama Series).
Character Breakdown: Early 30s, Female. Half-Japanese, Half-British.
She's that someone with rhythm in her step, a rye glass in hand and willing to make friends with anyone. That workaholic friend that lets loose on weekends. A dashing suit-tailored Tony Stark when it comes to presentation, but who can make you feel centre of the universe with names such as "Darlings" and "Loves" used to dote on interesting persons. She's someone willing to risk anything on a bet, work a mic with a finger-snapping beat, lays down the perfect poker face, goes all in on red and drinks casually everyday. The Gambling Voodou Hotelier, also: A hardcore and classy bare-knuckle brawler.
Hotel Themes: An older and classy experience. Vintage luxury, cleanliness and a velvety palette mixed in gold and dark-varnished woods, with the theme being consistent throughout the hotel. The Hotel works very hard to hide its inefficiencies and struggles from its patrons with extended services, overtime commitments and marketing stunts such as this. Security is loose with only one highly-trained security guard. Prior, Maisilyn preferred to handle this herself and her physical handling of rowdy/disrespectful patrons have given her a slight “mob boss” reputation.
