Background:
Daniel, usually known as Preston today, Starr was born into a legendary family that was just getting their feet wet when he was born. He loved watching his father competing on television back in his golden years and aspired to be a wrestler like his father. Daniel was born to Donald and Shelli Starr and had a brother named Johnathan although Johnathan didn’t get into the family business opting to join the U.S. Army when he graduated high school. When Donald retired, Daniel realized that his own path was being carved ahead and he was determined to not let his family name down. Daniel competed mostly in America and even did some stuff in Japan. He even joined a faction with his friend led by Jonathan Steele from 2009-2011 and joined a reunion in 2020 before turning heel in USPW.
When in USPW, he became a 3-time USPW Television Champion, a USPW Global Tag Team Champion, and a USPW United States Champion. He returned to being a face in 2021 rejoining with Jonathan and William on the indies joining their group known as The Tag Team Gods. They would soon expand back into a large faction known as The Reformation and he would soon take on a mentorship role as a trainer to help form the next generation of wrestlers that would take his mantle. Coming to LAW, Daniel has the ability to outreach and expand his knowledge becoming apart of the long list of trainers in one of the biggest promotions in the world.
Outside of the ring, Daniel has started his own comic book line with his first created superhero, The Innovator. He also has a passion for art and drawing recently opening his own writing studio in Austin and hoping to break into a new career when he eventually hangs up his own boots for good. Daniel also went to college to get a teaching degree and currently teaches graphic design, comic book writing, and art history at St. Edwards’s University in Austin.
Personality:
For the most part, Daniel is someone that can push people to become what he sees in them. He motivates his students and becomes a true mentor that wants to test their limits, mold them into better athletes, and push them to new heights. Daniel can come across as egotistical and a bit bossy and pushy when he trains wrestlers, but he is just looking out for them and making sure they do their absolute best. Daniel is also very creative and outspoken owing to his interests in art and comic books. Although, his boldness can be quite off putting if his intelligence rubs people the wrong way and labels him as a “know-it-all.”
