Hunter Starr

Unread post by Pegasus »

Name: Hunter Starr

Age: 29

Height: 5’8

Weight: 187 lbs.

Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri

Background:

Hunter’s lineage runs back to being apart of the dynasty of the Starr Wrestling Family. It dates all the way back to the 1960s when Albert Starr first started his promotion, Flex Wrestling, which would feature his stepson, Donald Starr, and his daughter, Samantha. When Albert finally passed away in 2001, he passed his ownership of the promotion to his children as they kept it running for another three years before Donald declared bankruptcy for the company shutting it’s doors in 2004. Donald had made his wrestling debut in 1985 and retired fully in 2008, but made the odd appearance in the ring once in awhile, opened his own promotion, became a Hall of Famer, and helps local indies get off their feet. Hunter’s mother, Samantha, became a wrestler in 1973 and slowed down by 2003 only making a certain number of appearances a year. When Hunter started middle school, Samantha retired in 2006 in order to take care of her son. She even got a job as a store clerk at Wal-Mart to help pay the bills with some extra cash.

Hunter would be trained by his mother and his uncle molding him for the squared circle. He originally wanted a career in the NFL trying out for football in middle and high school, but would always get cut from the team due to his average grades. Hunter tapped into wrestling which flowed through his blood and he would soon join his cousin, Daniel Starr, in developmental for a big American company. Hunter always was very close to winning gold, but couldn’t quite get it and in 2008, he left for the indies where he had success winning more gold than he realize. Hunter also became an international superstar wrestling briefly in Mexico and made semi-regular appearances in Japan before moving aboard to focus on his career there. During his indie run, he met Owen Chafin, who became his best friend and tag team partner from 2008-2019 when Owen turned heel on him and they had a longstanding feud for the rest of that year.

When he came to USPW, Hunter became their Television and United States Champion even fighting Owen a few times during his tenure. He turned heel and eventually went back to Japan where he works to this day. Hunter will occasionally work a few shows in the the States, but mainly lives in Tokyo after obtaining Japanese citizenship along with his American citizenship for his house in St. Louis back home. LAW takes him aboard as a trainer thanks to his legendary family roots and the technical, showmanship, and aerial skills he has amassed in his career thus far. Hunter is a bit of a bad boy mellowing into his older age, but he won’t turn away any students that truly need his help.

Personality: As stated above, Hunter is a bad boy and acts pretty cocky around people when he can flaunt his confidence. Being a heel wrestler has given him tons to talk about and he’s a showboat not afraid of showing people a good time. Some may find this off putting, but Hunter considers himself a realist and will be bluntly honest with someone if they need to hear a truth they aren’t ready for. Despite these tendencies, Hunter is always there to offer advice or train the new generation as he becomes an older man. He’s not afraid to stick up for those he considers his friends or take someone down a notch. For all his teasing and annoyances, Hunter has a heart of gold. Just the way his mother raised him.
