Strategy

Adelaide’s strategy tends to reflect her opponent at the time.
Should her opponent be smaller, Adelaide is focused on using her power and maintaining a staunch position on the mat to lure their speed into her clutches. This parallels when faced with larger adversaries, where she’ll take a more loose and agile approach. One keynote from both adaptable styles is her psychological game and methodical pace. She’s not goaded by her temper nor impatient, neither is she pressured into making a show; but to allow her opponent to make that move. To allow them to come forward, rarely ever rushing into an attack of her own. She frequents bait moves like kicks or fakes, coupled with very real knee strikes and that unnerving vacant stare. There she targets a limb or body section, often the focus for the match as she’ll always seek to end the match in different ways to keep herself from ever being predictable.

Personality:
Spoiler
Adelaide is a calm and smug-mannered individual known for her composure and pleasantries while still remaining vicious. She has an incredible memory, an exquisite eye for details and is incredibly manipulative towards anyone around her. Her main motivations are rather grey. She seeks uncertainty to a fault while simultaneously moving the world around like her chess board. That perception and keen awareness for things around her makes her an invaluable asset to Karolina and anyone she aligns herself to at the time.

Her way of speaking tends to follow a stern but candid tone, subtly cold but always the blunt truth. She has little in the way of emotion to hold anything back, nor to render morality beyond what is beneficial to her at the time. This woman has no permanent loyalties except to one, supposedly. Her greatest ambition is usually at the helm of somebody else’s ambition, which is Karolina.

However, from time to time, Adelaide has preyed on other people with grand ambitions to test how far they run. She inserts herself as a benefactor, promising aid and using her information gathering to study a target. From then on, she latches herself to them until the moment where they fall stagnant, then orchestrates their downfall as the true test.

History:
Spoiler
Born in Dresden, February 5th, 1983 — Adelaide lived in East Germany under modest conditions. The Reinhardt family was split at this time, with the majority having smuggled themselves into Western Germany and Adelaide and her mother in the East. Life was simple and rudimentary, never too dull nor exciting for that matter. She was a quiet child, a listener, not very sociable but bright.

Things changed after 1990 when the wall came down. East and West soon united, then the Soviet Union collapsed a year later. The catastrophe made way for private investment, something her family used to become truly global as a multi-national trading company. Adelaide was brought into their fold, given a private tutor and tempered to become the next CFO of The Reinhardt MNC. She’d also meet her older sister, Karolina Reinhardt, the mother of Karla and Maria Reinhardt. She was about four years older, but they feuded nonetheless. Karolina was born into a competitive mindset as the future CEO, taught to see others as competition for her opportunities. It just so happened that their new rapid flood of wealth brought this to new meaning. So throughout their teen years, Johanna and Adelaide battled each other in every possible manner. Academics, entrepreneurship, public image and the occasional wrestling match when things grew physical. This made both of them delve into the sport to some degree, but never beyond testing their egos.

Something did cool their rivalry, though, as Adelaide came of age, her hand in marriage was pawned off to a politician within the Russian government. There were minor qualms about it, as she was an asset beyond much else, a half-child brought in because blood couldn’t betray you. It struck a nerve with Karolina who’s ascended view of the Reinhardt family saw this bloodline more than something that could be traded. Still, Adela reassured the decision was wholly logical and was prepared to bear the burden. The two shared mutual respect from them on, just as Adela came under a rather strict relationship.

She acted like an old school housewife, subservient to her husband, forbidden from studying, although she did in secret into her 30s. Her silence made him bitter and physical affection was all but wretched, sometimes violent, though joyous acting would fool the rest of the family. It soon embroiled into animosity beyond what morality could contain. She wanted to destroy him, reap him for all he’s worth and let him drown. So, she did the only thing she thought was plausible and bore him a child; his heir that assumed his name and the inheritance. He didn’t get to see her long after his earnings, connections and assets came under her child, who was renamed Johanna Reinhardt upon his death. All the keys to his kingdom were stolen and she let it be known on his deathbed and even slept with his disowned son. Before Adelaide moved back to Germany, she gave her daughter to the step-son, Mikhail. Johanna wouldn’t be seen for twenty years.

Everything was seized underneath Adelaide’s whim and merged with The Reinhardt’s global enterprises, earning them a massive boost into the Russian arms industry and energy sector, becoming a significant source of revenue. She handled the assets herself and used that leverage to reinstate her claim as the future CFO. However, the whole debacle threw her into a depression. Stress from the trauma and parenting mounted into stiff drinks and questionable choices, a need for adrenaline which they found only in continuing her past of wrestling. She was only twenty-three.

It came with a ten-year run under the ring name “Adela.” And she went to great lengths to keep her family from view, even so much as ghosting media appearances. She enjoyed three title reigns and mostly bounced from promotions around the globe, using the Reinhardt business infrastructure to move about quickly. Her run was trademarked as a villainous figure, with that predator look in her eyes, that cool-headedness that sometimes burst into a terrifying rage, which helped vent the stress she had. There was also a cunning knack for partnerships, where she slithered her way into title scenes by aiding the reigning champion, only to turn on them later and take their title. Despite playing the snake, when she got inside that ring and took her chance, she was known as undeniably fierce and methodical, playing matches like economics while always having that patent Reinhardt fire as a backup.

Injuries would stymie her run, mostly around her neck that came under multiple surgeries until convinced to assume a management role for other talents. She stopped at thirty-three after her last match retired her with another neck injury, spending the next five years in therapy for it, undergoing surgery in hopes of a return. However, when her parents passed, Karolina assumed the CEO’s mantle, which initially diverted this plan. Adelaide was named the new CFO, though surrounded by old veterans and trustees who helped her fill the role.

Though her eyes were on global strategy, something peculiar happened within the wrestling industry that dragged her back. A girl named Karla “Ray” Reinhardt had begun to make headway in her wrestling career. She had the complete opposite doctrine of keeping their name hush; Karla made it a whole other identity. What was most perplexing was the anonymity of this child. Karla had negated her radar until just then, even as she assumed her role within the Reinhardt business. Karolina swore only to have one important daughter, Maria, who already had her run within the realm of combat sports before injury took it away too. After that incident, Karolina didn’t wish to recognize Karla’s run in the sport or her at all but didn’t punish it either so long as she made money.

Adelaide was advised to do the same but gave in to her curiosity to approach Karla. She became impressed by her ambition; she wanted to steal the main event for herself and take the whole industry under her control by dominating LAW— at just twenty years of age. Perhaps it was laughable, but Adelaide would entertain it. Around this time, Johanna found her when purchasing a warehouse that would become a training centre, funded by Karla and Adelaide. To Johanna, she was the idol who took her from an evil figure, so threw herself into whatever trepidation to gain her approval. It so happened that Johanna was huge and potent in stature, but knew little of what it meant to be a Reinhardt. Johanna went through public schools, had friends, did sports and other things that wasn’t private tutoring, being indoctrinated and mentored to be thrust in the media’s eyes. This made Johanna the perfect subject for the wrestling program Karla and Adelaide had started, coerced by her approval and a taste of luxury. Her daughter’s life had been willingly given up to become a wrestler for her mother.

As for Karla and Adelaide, they continued to co-inspire, with Adela even becoming Karla’s teacher. It’s only recently that things took yet another turn. Not just Karla’s self-evolution, but Karolina’s other daughter, Maria. A thorn in the financial books, something Adelaide hid until the situation carefully exasperated itself. Only when it grew large enough did she inform Karolina and it was enough to see Maria cut off from funds and made to pay back all she lost. Adelaide continued to support her livelihood through her own pocket and was set to manage her strategy of recompense. To which, she suggested a push into wrestling alongside Karla. And with Johanna’s push towards LAW imminent, Adelaide felt the stars align for an excuse to return to the world of wrestling.
