Camie Young exuded confidence at every turn in her career at LAW thus far. But in her ongoing, heated rivalry with Tracy Canon, it was becoming more and more clear that Camie was feeling something else. The blonde's seriousness and her stoic attitude. The way she made her entrance disrespectfully by teasing Tracy's own entrance. The way Camie made her way to the ring without so much as glancing at the fans or, at the referee or the other officials when she got into the ring. Camie was laser-focused on the entrance ramp and on her opponent. Savvy fans and veteran wrestlers with real experience could tell you just by looking at the expression on Camie's face. This attitude that was atypical of Camie's usual swagger and arrogance was born out of sheer desperation! And by now, Tracy was well aware of this!
Camie had come after her during
her autograph signings. Camie had tried to ruin her reputation
during a live interview with the tag champs!. Even her entrance just now was born entirely out of an obsession that the Skintight Submission Specialist had with The Circus Cat! Try as she might, the truth was palpable in the air tonight. Camie's obsession and rivalry with LAW's favorite middleweight cat luchadora were rooted in the fact that, as impressive as Camie's undefeated streak was, she had never faced anyone on Canon's level before! And that if Tracy managed to win in style tonight as she had so many times in the past, Young would be written off as the jealous predator that she was! As a woman that couldn't win when it mattered most!
Simply put, after dedicating every fiber of her being to trying to show up Tracy, it was clear Camie
needs this win because she needs to prove herself. And Tracy
already has.
A long pause followed the recap video playing on the screen that detailed the build-up of this very personal rivalry between these two women. There was no doubt that the deafening boos descending from the crowd would annoy Camie as Tracy made her wait. Even from backstage, the pressure of Young glaring at the ramp could be felt. Tracy knew exactly how much she was pissing off her opponent by taking a while to get ready. She reveled in it. The Circus Cat was a woman that lived to steal the show. The lights illuminating the entrance ramp would slowly dim. Eventually, the stage would go dark, completely, obscuring it completely. Cameras would cut to Camie, who would undoubtedly be nervous, livid, or some combination of the two! The boos that filled the arena suddenly transitioned into raucous cheers all over as it was clear that Tracy Canon was getting ready to make her presence known!
Spotlights would light up the stage revealing a small squad of adorable, petite idols, each with a microphone in hand! The group immediately spread out and motioned to the crowd as they began to break out into song!
A platform from below would slowly raise as the singers danced and sang across the stage! An image of The Circus Cat's mask would appear on the giant monitor above the ramp as the luchadora emerged from below! Tracy would hit her signature pose! She looked over her shoulder with her bicep flexed and her famed backside turned towards the arena! Lights of all different colors lit up the entrance ramp before finally changing to a pink and white motif in unison, lightning Tracy's way down the ramp!
The Circus Cat would dance through the twirling idols and stop briefly at the top of the ramp! Tracy would take one of her dancer's hands and twirl the girl into her arms before planting a big kiss on the girl's lips, igniting the crowd with cheers! Canon would pause for only a second to make eye contact with Camie from afar! The redhead would wink to her rival in the ring before proceeding! The hype behind the debut of what seemed to be her new theme song was palpable all throughout the arena! Many fans sang along with it!
Finally, Tracy would adjust the big, gold tag team championship belt around her waist and descend down the ramp, high-fiving fans along the way! Tracy took time to acknowledge the many Circus Cat shirts, signs, and masks that fans had in the stands! There was no doubt! She was the odds in favorite for this huge PPV match! Both in terms of crowd likability and in terms of odds of winning, almost every soul in LAW and almost every fan watching the match around the world was anticipating a Circus Cat win, including Tracy!
The luchadora would hop onto the apron and flip over the ropes! In a display of agility and acrobatics, Tracy stuck the landing in the middle of the ring! She raised both hands in the air and motioned towards the audience! All the while, she didn't even so much as acknowledge Camie once she was in the ring with her! She knew this was pissing Camie off and she reveled in it. It was the least passive-aggressive thing she could do after Camie spent weeks torturing her, stalking her. There was nothing Tracy was looking forward to more than pushing Camie far past the point of blind rage and beating Camie to rub her nose in the fact that she was wrong for ever doubting how well deserved Tracy's success and opportunities in LAW are! But before that, Tracy was going to live out her career the way she always had! By stealing the show!
"Hey, Jim. Do me and my opponent a huge solid, would ya?" Tracy placed an arm around the ring announcer's shoulder.
The man seemed to be familiar with her, and possibly all The SWAT Cats, which was another testament to their success individually and as a group. In the seconds before the bell could ring and the match could be started proper, Tracy seemed to ask him for a favor. Even now, Tracy still didn't look Camie's way or acknowledge the Young in the slightest.
"When you do my announcement, put a little extra mustard on it for Mama Tracy, alright?" Tracy gestured with her thumb and index finger. She'd quickly jump up onto the middle turnbuckle and face the crowd! Tracy rolled her forearms with her title belt in hand to play up her introduction as the announcer detailed her many accomplishments!
"Ladies and Gentlemen! This match is an Apex Qualifier and it is scheduled for One Fall!"
"In this corner! Standing in at 5 foot 5, weighing one hundred and fifty-two pounds!" The crowd would roar with approval as Tracy finished her gesture and held her title belt up high in anticipation of the rest!
"SHE! Was the very first number one contender to the LAW Middleweight Championship! SHE! Is one-third of the Reigning! And Defending! Inaugural! World! Tag Team! Championssssss! Representing the SSSSSSWAT Cats! She is the Cirrrrrrcus Cat! "Mama" TRRRRRRRRRACYYYYYYYYY! C-C-C-CAAAAAAAANOOOO-"
"AGH!"
The announcement, both grandiose and gratuitous did all the justice to Tracy that her career thus far deserved! And as Tracy stood there in her corner on the middle turnbuckle, reveling in the cheers and the hype of her admittedly over the top but well-deserved ring introduction by the announcer, the intro would be abruptly and forcefully cut short!
Camie Young was a woman possessed! And her intervention here showed that Tracy had indeed pushed her past the brink! The Skintight Submissionista had seemingly seen and heard enough! Bell or no bell, she set her sights on Tracy and got the drop on her before the match could be started proper! From this instance alone, it was abundantly clear that Camie would do anything-
anything to defeat the famed Circus Cat here, tonight!
