LAW Apex Match: Lyra Heartfield vs. Peggy McIntyre

This was it. After coming in last year and taking on some tough customers throughout her first year, Lyra was about to top it off by competing at Apex. She even decided to make use of the new gear Jonathan had crafted for her and even got out the translucent purple cape Black Tornado had replicated for her. Lyra put the cape on looking herself in the mirror and took a deep breath loving her new look and she even chose a new entrance theme for this occasion. The Openweight Championship and Middleweight Championship hung in the balance and she personally chose Peggy McIntyre for her opponent wanting a tough wrestler to truly prove herself against. Peggy might have been on the losing side most times, but she watched some of her matches and knew she would be one of the toughest she’s ever fought. Peggy relies on old school wrestling which may seem outdated by today’s styles, but Peggy put power into her moves so she wasn’t gonna be a slouch.

Lyra was notified she would be up first so she texted Jonathan, Brianna, and Sanae to wish her luck in her match and also sent Sanae a good luck text for her own Apex Match. Lyra left her phone in her bag and stuck it in her locker as she proceeded to gorilla waiting for her theme to play. The beginning vocals began as the crowd was a little surprised at a new theme as Lyra made her way out.

Lyra came out to a burst of cheers and green and pink pyro went around all over the place as Lyra bowed her head for respect for Japan. One of the male fans ecstatically handed her a Japanese flag as she gracefully took it and spreading it across her back like wings taking pictures with the fans. She reached the ring and got on the apron climbing one of the corners as green pyro rained down in the middle of the ring. Lyra threw her cape to the ground and raised the Japanese flag to thunderous cheers before leaping to the middle of the ring letting the green pyro rain down behind her. It soon ceased and she went to climb a corner raising her right fist screaming to the crowd and motioning for one of the belts to be around her waist as her music died down.

Peggy was ready for Apex. She didn't have the best record. She was called a "semi-fit, semi-flabby basic throwback like her aunt Velvet McIntyre the jobber of Japan." Peggy wanted to, no, needed to show this place what McIntyre women could do. She knew she wasn't a beach beauty bikini body, pr some idol singer or some biff fitness competitor turned wrestler who was "marketable" or popular. She and Lauren had their cult following group of fans and she loved them.

Peggy was wearing her green one piece swimsuit, gold kneepads, gold elbow pads, and green boots as she walked through the halls. Her inner thighs and backside quaked, trembling with each step. She was going to prove herself tonight and smash, slam and hammer this little Lyra lady. Peggy could feel it, Lyra wanted an "easy win" or something like that believing Peggy's record an indicator of how little she was in the ring.

As Peggy's music played she came out and flexed her impressive arms before stomping her way down the ramo. "All right who wants to see some little lass slammed so silly she don't get back up!?" Peggy shouted to the crowd before walking up the ring steps and onto the apron before climbing through the ropes.

Peggy walked right up to Lyra and flexed her biceps again, glaring a hole through her foe. Peggy would keep an icy state until the bell rang, at which point Peggy would lunge in and grapple with Lyra trying to outright overpower her at the bell driving her back to the corner if she could help it.

Lyra watched as Peggy made her way out flexing her muscles to the crowd and shouting that she was gonna put Lyra down so she never got back up. Normally, Lyra could foretell how this match would go, but for this one-time occasion, she wanted the universe to let her handle this match. She would always be grateful for the power to tell the future, but she wanted to create her own future just this once. Just like against Sanae. Lyra wanted to write the future to tell this time.

Peggy would try to intimidate her by flexing her muscles, but both women would just glare one another down. The referee saw they didn’t want to waste breath on introductions as she called for the bell.

DING! DING! DING!

Lyra locked up quickly with Peggy, but Peggy was clearly the stronger of the two pushing Lyra back into the corner right off the bat. Even if she could use her visions, Peggy wouldn’t let up on her. Lyra truly had to do this on her own. The referee saw both women huddling in the corner and stepped in pushing Peggy back so Lyra had time to breathe. Lyra grabbed the top rope with both hands and wanted to try for another lockup going to push Peggy back this time!

Peggy was pushed away by the referee and waved her hands on them. "Come on zebra, what trash is that?! Let us wrestle ya git!" Peggy shouted as she saw Lyra want to grapple again! Peggy smiled and tensed up, running in to grapple with Lyra and as Lyra pushed so did Peggy. Peggy felt the resistance but she was determined to show she was stronger, to show Japan she was no jobber and to drive Lyra back!

Lyra was here to prove herself against a legit wrestler like Peggy and she wasn't going to back down. Lyra headbutted Peggy to get away from her and ran the opposite ropes slingshotting herself for Peggy. Lyra got a good run in before jumping to try to Dropkick Peggy into the other ropes to bounce her off. If that worked, Lyra prepared her final move of this combo. She would attempt to lift Peggy off her feet for an Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex!

Peggy was fired up, ready to establish herself and be the dominant woman in the ring against the smaller Lyra. Turns out that didn't quite happen, not even close. Peggy was headbutt and stumbled back, pissed that the other woman could take a cheap shot like that and then she was dropkicked, stumbling back on limp legs to the ropes. The reeling Irish wrestler looked like a hapless rookie as she was lift up and sent crashing hard to the canvas for a ring shaking belly to belly suplex!

"AAARRRGGHHHH!" Peggy howled as she was being trashed, kicking the mat in pain as Lyra came out and was ripping her apart!

Lyra smirked as she got back to her feet and the crowd cheered for her as it was clear the fortune teller had learned quite a lot over the last few matches she had. Lyra would move on Peggy hoping to keep everything going and got the old school wrestler up. She tried for a chop on the back and would place Peggy’s head between her legs. Lyra then used her arms to wrap around Peggy’s waist and lift her up. If Lyra succeeded in all this, her intention was to hit Peggy with a Piledriver!

Peggy took a hit to the back and was pulled up, feeling her head placed between Lyra's legs. She groaned and reached her arms out to grab the back of Lyra's legs to prevent herself from being lift up. "Not gonna happen darlin' you ain't gonna get the drop on me again!" Peggy said as she grunted trying to lift Lyra up and over her back for a landing on the canvas behind the Irish wrestler!

[Pegasus]

Lyra tried lifting Peggy, but the Irish wrestler grabbed the fortune teller’s legs meaning Lyra could only get Peggy up just a little bit off the ground. Lyra tried hitting the back to get Peggy to comply, but the redhead kept her grip where it was. Peggy made her move and reversed Lyra’s move with a Back Body Drop as Lyra impacted the mat making it shake as she groaned! Lyra rolled around and had to have some breathing room, but Peggy was sure to keep on her.

Peggy saw Lyra rolling away and moved right after her, jumping up and extending her legs! Peggy was trying to crash down on top of Lyra with a big leg drop before transitioning into a headscissor hold! "Not so much fun is it little lady!?" Peggy would say flexing her biceps to show off as she squeezed Lyra with her thick thighs! Peggy would send a few stray punches at Lyra's head as she was stuck but would go back to showing off as she choked Lyra out with her legs.
