LAW APEX Finals Match: Sophia Wolfe Vs Brynhild Ederne

Sophia could not believe it for a moment that Brynhild wanted to continue to fight. For certain she had knocked the woman out with that obliterating airborne tornado kick. The referee had checked her extensively and was satisfied Brynhild was knocked out! Yet here Brynhild stood, even after the bell had rung. An exhausted Brynhild began to pace forwards, wearing a confident and defiant expression, bearing whispers of unfulfilled promises to embrace and break Sophia. It was all Sophia could do to remain standing at this point. Her legs shook not through fear, but just through sheer strain as the energy had left her. Still, Sophia took a fighting stance, expecting Brynhild to try and pick up where she left off.

The crowd all stood, the moment looking intense between both wrestlers… but thankfully it would be a brief moment of apprehension. Despite standing tall, despite the charade of confidence, there was nothing left in Brynhild. It must have took whatever she had left just to stand back up, and soon, the heavyweight legend killer found herself crashing down amongst the rubble and splinters of what remained of the table. The crowd went wild at this display, as Sophia noticeable dropped her guard, an expression of anguish as the pain began to take over.

“Do you need a stretcher?” The referee would whisper to Sophia, to which the German would shake her head.
“Nein. There is only one way I am leaving this ring, and that is on my own two legs.” Sophia would reply with a determination and defiance in her tone. For certain she was hurt, for certain Sophia was aware she probably needed medical attention given her scar had been bleeding and busted open. Not to mention the blood down the side of her jaw that had come from being squeezed so hard. But she would not be carried out of here. Today she was the victor, and she finally answered the question that had lingered since her debut, if Full Metal Wrestling’s best had what it took to take on LAW’s best after Sophia had been signed from the now defunct federation.

Tonight, Sophia Wolfe silenced all those critics. Brynhild was a Main Eventer who had defeated the best amongst LAW, which meant that Sophia belonged in the same league. Despite all her pains and ailments, Sophia would do something that was quite uncharacteristic given her history and stoic nature. Normally after a match, Sophia would simply make her way back up the ramp, but today she wanted to celebrate for her fans that believed in her, and for Thereisa and Katherine Hart who also believed she could do it, even when Sophia was doubting herself. Taking the turnbuckle, Sophia took her time to climb it, clearly hurt, but when she got to the top she cast aside her pains and ailments. Throwing her arms out to her sides with fists clenched tightly, Sophia would stick out her chest, arching her searing back before throwing her head upwards and howling with imposing presence akin to the hunter of her namesake.

The crowd would explode with more ovation, rising to their feet in celebration, enjoying this display from the normally quiet and collected German beauty. Sophia would give a rare smile when the display was finished, a small one, but a smile that was beautiful all the same. Never one to acknowledge the crowd, Sophia this time took it all in. She never admitted it, but this was why she liked to wrestle. It was the closest she could get to being a super heroine, and all at once she realised she had been neglecting those that loved to see her wrestle. She spied Thereisa within the crowd, who stood and clapped with a look of quiet approval upon her features. Sophia nodded towards her, her vision blurring a little as she felt tears threatening to well up within her eyes. It was then she looked towards where Katherine Hart was seated, never hard to miss with her wrestling mask coating her beautiful face. She was whistling and imitating the howl call from moments ago, prompting the crowd to join in, before many were howling like wolves amongst the cheers and standing ovations. The German could not help but bite her lower lip softly as she looked upon her secret lover, before her smile grew.

Sophia tapped her shoulder with a fist before raising and arm, listening for a few moments more before she finally decended the turnbuckle and slipped out of the ring. She grabbed her Gi top that had been cast out, simply flinging it over her shoulders like a cape, before she began to make her way up the ramp. This time she did tag at out stretched hands, listening as the crowd continued to cheer and howl like a Wolf Pack. With this victory, Sophia realised she had succeeded the Apex Finals match, putting her in contention for the Openweight Championship Title of LAW. Whilst such a notion pleased Sophia to her core, she was just glad that she was able to take on such an obstacle. Brynhild had without a doubt been her most dangerous foe yet, and Sophia was aware there would be equal threats upon the horizon. It just felt good though that she now knew she had what it takes to stand with the best of them.

As her entrance music blared out over the PA system, Sophia would turn one last time, throwing up an arm in celebration. Everything in her body hurt so much, but right now, Sophia still felt great. Even when Sophia finally disappeared behind the curtain, the crowd continued to cheer and howl, fired up after the Apex Finals match. It would no doubt remain one of the matches for the ages not just in LAW, but in wrestling history.
