History: From an early age, Sanae had a pretty good idea of what she wanted to be in her life! And that was...an idol singer. She was in love with the prestige and attention they commanded, the glamor and pageantry, and having a legion of adoring fans wanting to back her up wherever she might go. To Sanae, it was the kind of life she could only dream of, but she wanted that dream to be a reality. As she grew older, that never changed. If anything, her desire just grew stronger. She saw that young women just like her were able to sign on with local groups and go on to stardom, and she figured that if they stood a chance, so did she! As soon as she'd raised enough money to cover the travel fees, she set off for the nearest talent agency as soon as they were holding auditions, hoping it could be her ticket to fame.
Unfortunately for Sanae, she was going into a highly competitive field. Dozens, if not hundreds, of hopefuls were lined up for the chance of taking to the stage, and for many, they just couldn't make the cut. Sanae was one of them. She was dejected. But she remembered what her mother would always tell her - that she should never give up, no matter how hard it gets, and to always pursue her dreams! She swore that she'd practice her singing and hone her talents, and she'd try again next time they came through town.
A year later, they did. And once again...she didn't make the cut. However, this time, Sanae noticed something else. LAW was also in town, and they were looking at new prospects to join the company's fledgling Young Lioness program. Sanae didn't have any experience with wrestling; she didn't even watch it. But in the sort of desperation she was in, she had an idea - if she became a wrestler, then she could use that to get eyes on her and catapult herself to her idol career! She'd already have plenty of fans, and she was sure that the most devoted of them would follow her wherever her place in life took her. So too, it wasn't lost on her that many of the qualities of professional wrestling weren't much different than being a pop star, and she felt she could get the same rush that way! Even if she didn't have any prior training, she noticed that LAW was willing to take her in and train her from the ground up to achieve her spot on the roster, which made her think she stood a chance. It was hard work, and she was in for a strenuous career of getting taught rudimentary moves and being squashed in pre-shows in order to build her endurance. But with time and effort, she would be part of the first class to graduate to the main roster - and she was ready to move on to greater things!
Since coming to LAW, Sanae saw her career take a dramatic turn. Almost as soon as she hit the main roster, it was discovered that she was a natural prodigy when it came to wrestling, and she already seemed to understand the ins and outs of taking on even a more experienced opponent. Her first match proved to be a spectacle that instantly endeared the fans to her thanks to her acrobatic prowess, her determination, and her showy style, and with every match she won her popularity began to soar! Soon, her idol dreams were realized, as she was able to spin off her fame from LAW into getting herself a deal with a record label - though even when she was touring the concert circuit, Sanae was reluctant to turn her back on wrestling, finding that she loved it and that it made her feel a true sense of accomplishment with her life and her career. She was willing to balance her two lives, always reaching for something bigger and better on the horizon.
When she was called out by Toshimi Minami, who blamed all of her accomplishments on a stroke of luck, Sanae was determined to prove her wrong through entering LAW Apex and making a case for herself as a worthy contender for the title of the promotion's inaugural World Openweight Champion - and not only did she prove herself in all of her qualifiers, showing her valiant spirit and her dedication for greatness in every one, she was able to force a submission from Minami herself in her Apex match! Sanae had never felt more excited to be where she was - and she was never going to look back!
Personality: Sanae is a plucky, optimistic girl; the hardships she's faced in pursuing her dreams have taught her that she needed to stick it out if she wanted to go far, and she's taken that advice to heart. No matter what happens to her, she keeps on going. However, due to her firm belief that everything will work out with perseverance, she's a bit naive and has a rather idealistic outlook on life. She tends to assume the best of people, which doesn't always work out in her best interests when they hold ulterior motives she wasn't aware of. Sanae can also be an airhead at times, but she always means well. Although she got into wrestling to advance her own goals, she cares deeply about her friends and values them deeply for the support and camraderie they've shown her through her time in training, and she'd do anything for them if it came down to it.
Trivia:
- Sanae writes her own songs, and she is currently trying to convince the bookers to let her sing her own entrance theme.
- Being from a coastal city known for its shores, Sanae loves swimming and the beach. Her first brush with stardom was when she won a bikini contest one summer, which gave her a lot more confidence in her future.
- As soon as Sanae was allowed to wear her own gear instead of the generic attire assigned to the Young Lionesses, she went to designing several outfits for herself that she chooses for her matches based on personal preference. She feels it lets her gauge fan reaction.
- Her frog hairclip was a gift from Moeka, one of her friends from the Young Lioness Program. She's worn it ever since as a token of their bond.
- Despite beng a lightweight, Sanae thinks she's fat because when she was in school, her classmates would make fun of her by calling her a cow. She's oblivious to the fact they were actually referring to her bust size.
- Since she found success in LAW, Sanae has in fact been booked to sing at a few concerts. She still wrestles at the same time, however.
- When she was a child, Sanae's brother teased her by claiming Godzilla was a documentary. To this day, she's terrified of kaiju.

Fighting Style: Sanae was drawn to wrestling for its flashiness and high-intensity action, and her moveset reflects that. She loves doing whatever will catch the eye of her fans, and trained in showier high-flying manuevers to that end. As far as she's concerned, she doesn't just want to win the match, but to make a memorable impact when doing so - which can sometimes backfire on her, if she's too preoccupied in looking good to go for an opportunity for an effective, but basic, manuever. In addition to her aerial moves, Sanae is also surprisingly strong for her size, and she's fond of using slams and power moves in order to deal damage and to play up her capabilities. She enjoys overpowering opponents bigger than she is for the spectacle it presents, even if doing so often leaves her physically drained, and if she misses her chance to finish an opponent, she leaves herself weakened for them. Lastly, since coming to the main roster, Sanae has discovered that she's very adaptable and a quick learner, needing little thought to expand her arsenal with new moves or to try out different styles. If it comes to it, she's even willing to adapt to the needs of the match on the fly, switching up her tactics to fit her opponents.
Favored Match Types: Sanae isn't picky about the kinds of matches she's in. In fact, she thinks the more she can get her name out and build her fanbase, the better, so she likes having her options open. She doesn't do hardcore or no-DQ matches without good reason to, though, as she respects the rules of wrestling and wouldn't think of breaking them for her benefit. Despite her innocent demeanor, Sanae also isn't averse to lewder matches. While she isn't one for hentai, she's willing to strip down or wrestle in substances if it means getting attention and helping her get noticed. For better or worse, she knows that there are dirty-minded people out there, and she just sees it as another way to advance her career, not thinking too much about it. As far as her naive mind goes, it just shows she's willing to do whatever it takes!
Finishing Moves:
Saitou Drop
A top rope backbreaker Sanae named after herself in the name of sounding fancier.
Shooting Star Press
Venus Slayer
A move Sanae developed over the course of her Apex matches, culminating in her using it to make Toshimi Minami tap out, and she's since added it to her arsenal. It is a modified Lotus Lock, with the addition of Sanae grabbing her opponent's ankles to twist back on their legs at the same time.

Friends:
- Sanae considers everyone who was in her class in the Young Lioness program a friend! They were with her every step of the way and she accredits her success to their help and support.
- Moeka Izumi is someone Sanae looks up to in particular, and she sees her as an inspiration for the determination she showed through their training. She's also thankful for all the support she gave her, and could never hope to repay her for all she's done. She would pursue a closer bond with her, but she's afraid to say anything, worried she'd be overstepping her bounds.
- Alizeh Midori is both a close friend and an inspiration to Sanae. At her first match on the main roster, Alizeh helped her achieve her true potential, inspiring her to go further and further beyond what she thought was possible, and she's grateful for the opportunity. While she's been training under Alizeh, Sanae wants to see her not only as a teacher but as a personal friend, and Alizeh is happy to return it.
- Lyra Heartfield has been Sanae's girlfriend ever since they met in an Apex qualifier. Lyra seemed interested in getting to know Sanae as more than just an opponent, and while she wasn't used to this sort of attention, she agreed to try things out with her, only to find that she liked being with Lyra and wanted to keep it going. It was made publically official when Sanae announced the news during one of her concerts, and they've been going steady since.
