Backstory: Bella Thompson grew up in Upstate NY, daughter to a single mother, Kelly Thompson. Kelly was a cutthroat advertising executive, and raised Bella to strive for greatness, at all costs. She even gave Bella a mantra: "I will not accept a life I do not deserve". She took this with her, but continually struggled finding her way. In high school, Bella joined the dance team. At this time, it seemed like Bella found her way. She was good, and highly recognized for her talent. It was perfect.
Then a new girl came in. Carla Vaughn. To Bella's horror, she was not only prettier, but gaining popularity for her own dance skills. Bella couldn't lose this. She began calculating on how to get rid of this problem. One day, when Carla was alone in the locker room, a masked attacker assaulted her with a bat, going for her legs. Carla would never be able to compete for at least the year.
This was actually Bella's doing, and despite getting what she wanted, she felt guilty, admitting it to the principal. Her mom was called in, and Kelly coerced them into letting the incident go as long as Bella was removed from the team. On the ride home, her mom commented on her actions. Surprisingly, she was more disappointed that she got caught. "I thought you found what you wanted. Why did you give up and let her take it from you? They didn't know it was you." She said. "Whenever you find your next chance...don't let anything take it from you." From that day forward, Bella swore she would never let her conscience get in the way of her future again.
After she got out of high school, Kelly would offer her daughter some work in her advertisements. One was a sports drink ad involving a female pro wrestler, Orime Akasa. Bella and her got along during the shoot, quickly becoming friends. During a talk of their perspective careers, Bella said she was fascinated with her line of work, having the eyes of millions on you, but lamented that she herself couldn't do that. "Actually...you do have a pretty good build for a pro wrestler. And you said you danced. It could translate into wrestling." She gave Bella some contact info for a trainer. Over the next few months, Bella learned how to wrestle and excelled at it. A year later, she was in a tryout for LAW, and was picked out. She took the name Bella Blaze.
