Chigusa Yuuki vs. Lyra Heartfield - Apex Qualifier Match

As she tried to soothe the pain from being struck earlier, Chigusa was struck by Lyra's lariat, and she was knocked off her feet, hitting the mat with her back. "URGHH!" And it seemed that Lyra was going to follow up with an elbow drop, though she saw that attack coming, rolling to her side, avoiding the elbow drop from hitting her right into her body. Still, the lariat had left her winded, and she would try to put some distance between herself and her opponent to recover.

Lyra missed the elbow drop and winced as she turned on her side in order to rub at her elbow. Both wrestlers were down for right now as the referee checked on them raising a finger to start the ten count.

With Lyra missing her elbow drop, Chigusa rolled herself away from her opponent. Hearing the referee's counts, Chigusa grunted as she would force herself on all four, shaking her head as she tried to recollect herself. Seeing her opponent seemed to be hurting after hitting her elbow at the empty spot, Chigusa focused herself on getting up, panting and breathing hard as sweat dripped off her face. She needed to win this match and defeat her opponent.

[Pegasus]

“2! 3! 4!”

Lye rubbed her elbow and took her time getting back up as “5!” would be sounded as she made it back to her right knee only. She then went down on her behind to sit and look at Chigusa looking her in the eyes. The burning desire for victory on the road to Apex burned in them both as they would start to rise when the ref counted “6! 7!”

Grunting, Chigusa forced herself to get up, and soon, she was fully on her feet. She looked at the direction of her opponent and knew that she needed to continue attacking her. So, she would charge towards her, looking to deliver a running knee strike right at her face in order to knock her down and deliver more damage on her.

Lyra would see Chigusa charging at her hoping for a knee strike and that’s when she closed her eyes for a quick vision on what to do. She opened them seconds later using her free arm to counter Chigusa and lift her in an arch motion for a Hip Toss.

Charging towards Lyra to hit her with a running knee strike to her face, Chigusa didn't expect her opponent to catch her, and sure enough, she was caught and was hip tossed to the mat. She let out a cry as she hit the mat, but she would quickly roll over onto her knees before pushing herself back up onto her feet. Shaking her head, she would keep her eyes on Lyra to see what she would do next.

Lyra would then take a running charge towards Chigusa in order to start hitting a series of three Clotheslines to build up momentum for herself. Lyra had been beaten down for a majority of this match and Chigusa made for a very strong and experienced opponent so she had to keep up. Lyra would then try for an Atomic Drop before whipping Chigusa into the ropes hoping for the Tarot Reading (Pop-Up Powerbomb), if all proved to be successful.

Chigusa saw Lyra coming with her arm extended out, and she took a clothesline, knocking her off her feet. When she picked herself up again, she saw Lyra coming towards her, seemingly going for another clothesline. But Chigusa was having none of that as she would attempt to duck under Lyra's arm, avoiding her attack.

She would then run towards the ropes, rebounding from them before returning back to where Lyra was. From there, Chigusa would try to hit Lyra with a spear, tackling her down onto the mat.

Lyra got one of her Clotheslines in, but her next one hit nothing, but open air as her comeback was disrupted! She had no idea where Chigusa was, but she saw the opponent rebound off the ropes in order to hit a Spear knocking the wind out of Lyra. Lyra went down on her back and held her gut coughing out to the side. She tried to suck in air and would take some time to gather her bearings.
