Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
Even when you knew what to expect from a heavyweight like Cheryl did, no mentality was going to make you invincible to pain like that. Especially when it was back pain, the one place that had nerves connected to nearly the entire body and any kind of pain could have effects that carried all the way over to it. Right now the nerves in her back were going crazy after the powerbomb tried to put her through the mat and on the floor below it while Korra just treated Cheryl’s career like a game she could just end at the touch of a button. She wasn’t ready to move when Korra forced her up, causing more discomfort to her back and forced into a double underhook, when she expected to be dropped on her head she was instead lifted up she knew to expect more pain and tried to brace herself to endure it…which failed when she was spiked by Korra’s knee.
“Muuaaaggh!” Cheryl screamed. Bending over the knee before she rolled off it and staying in a C shape while she wailed on the floor. Her screams would make many in the crowd wince with how it was clearly overwhelming her to take all of this, but her head was shaking making it hard to tell if she was saying she had enough or refusing calls from her body to surrender. Soon after she straightened out and seemed to be trying to get up despite the pain.

Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
That knee was threatening to break Cheryl in half and if Korra could have pulled her up and dropped her down again she might have achieved that. Once she was down Korra looked over at Amber who looked like she was watching a slasher flick. Her despair was growing when it was clear that Korra had no intention of going for the pin here. She grabbed Cheryl once more and started to pull her back up. The evil enforcer was completely uncaring towards any pain that Cheryl might have been while she readied her fist to knock Cheryl down while holding her arm so that she could bring her back up and crush her skull.

Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
The pain in her back was getting worse the more she was pulled back to be knocked around by Korra, the enforcer's determination to cause pain all across Cheryl's body didn't seem to stop there. Chery's determination didn't end there, she was still out to prove a point in this match and she refused to stay down and allow Korra the glee of torturing her. She brought her back up to knock her back down by throwing a crushing fist to Cheryl's face, a blow that the cheerleader ducked out of the way of before running behind Korra.
Fighting through the pain running caused her, Cheryl would jump and grab Korra to bring her down with a reverse bulldog to bring her back down to the mat as hard as she could. It would hurt but Cheryl knew she needed to go further, and once she had her down she would try to pull back into a crucifix and hold Korra to the mat for a pin attempt.

Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
Her victim had been brought back up to take a punch and a long fall. Despite this being the natural state between them Korra instead ended up hitting nothing again and Cheryl moved behind her. “You little-” Her words never finished when Cheryl jumped on top of her and pulled her backwards with a reverse bulldog until Korra’s nasty tumble placed her on top of Cheryl. Before long her arms were accosted by Cheryl’s limbs before she was pulled back and placed on her shoulders. Despite having been close to severing her back in two Cheryl was still able to trap her with a crucifix. She heard the count start before she would fight to escape the pin and eventually kicked hard enough to force her way out after a count of two her push to get free ended with her planting herself on her ass before she would get up. Big mistake. The sudden attempt to rise put more of a strain on her leg then she expected and she nearly fell down to a knee. The fresh reminder of her pain brought new anger, and Korra ignored most of her tactics to turn and look for Cheryl to strike at again.

Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
Cheryl pulled Korra back into a crucifix, wanting to surprise and hold Korra down in a way she might be able to sneak a win in despite not having the power to muscle Korra down to the mat for a pin. The ref was quick and Korra's initial struggles were slow due to her surprise from how quickly Cheryl got her, leading to a situation where she thought she had a secure pin.
"ONE!"
"TWO!"
Cheryl's trick was stopped by Korra pushing herself back up and breaking the pin with pure strength. The cheerleader slipped away from Korra and would start to get back up to her feet, slowly and her back still hurting. That didn't matter when Korra suddenly tried to rush back at her, she had been watching her for this and thankfully she had time to act and move when she came in. Once again Cheryl would duck under Korra and grab her arm and place her other arm on Korra's waist before she would lift her leg up. Letting out a roar Cheryl would throw herself into an Ranhei, kicking her leg up and back down while rolling forward and dropping Korra back down!

Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
Amber was holding her breathe. She was trying not to smile and get her hopes up after Cheryl started to take back control knowing she was still fighting through so much. She was pointing what she was seeing thanks to Korra’s anger. The enforcer charged Cheryl only to be ducked under once again. Grabbed from the side where Cheryl pulled her arm close before kicking her leg out from under her with a Ranhei that took Korra off her feet! She tripped and twirled in the air before she came down on her shoulders which thankfully saved her from falling straight on her head and potentially injuring her more, while she would lay on her back assuming Cheryl didn’t go for a pin.

Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
Cheryl didn’t go for a pin, simply knocking Korra down was enough, she knew her foot was still hurting but this move likely wouldn’t have put an end to the match the way she wanted too. She let Korra go and rolled off her, taking her time to get over to the ropes. The way she was now she couldn’t do anything that would hurt Korra enough to put her down unless it was a submission hold, anything that involved staying on the floor. Her best bet was to get some distance and some air so she could hit her with something high risk without Korra being able to hit her like she would if she went for her leg again.
Cheryl had to brace herself knowing that once she reached the top she would do something that was going to hurt like hell, especially for her back. But she had to do whatever it took to get the job done and she couldn’t hesitate, reaching the top and watching Korra while waiting for her to get up and taking her big risk once she did, leaping into the air and coming down with a cross body before going for a pin if it connected.

Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
Korra’s rush to get back at Cheryl made her move more effective and had thrown her for a loop. Soon Cheryl’s hands let go instead of going for a pin just when she had another chance to do it. Korra was still on her back but still started to turn the moment she could and started rubbing the back of her head. “Bitch.” Even with her last rush working out poorly she was still seeing red over Cheryl’s resistance and was getting back up to make her pay without thinking. It only occurred to her that rushing things was a bad idea when she was back on her feet and her leg pain worsened when she tried to stand up and she noticed Cheryl jumping at her. She took one step backwards before her leg nearly buckled and stopped her, allowing Chery’s body to find it’s mark and land on her. Korra had no hope of escaping or catching Korra without her leg and once she hit the ground her chest was crushed. Korra’s face turned to a look of pure anguish while she exhaled and quickly gurgled out a gasp. The pain and lack of air had left Korra trapped while the ref settled in for a count. Amber was back to jumping in the air at what looked like the finish she was craving which she counted with the ref and the crowd. “One!”

Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
Cheryl didn’t grab a leg but laying across Korra after the cross body and hearing the crowd booming in cheers, Cheryl felt confident it would hold after everything she had done to get this far. The adrenaline soothed her back pain and let her stay on top of Korra, leaning on her chest and pushing her arms down to keep her from breaking out and seeing the pin continue.
“ONE!”
She knew that Korra’s leg was hurt and without it Korra would be relying on her good leg and her upper body strength to kick out, which she just took away from her as well. The only thing she could do now was hold on and wait for the count to finish, knowing that her victory was just seconds away…

Re: Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier
“Two!” Amber jumped with the crowd’s excitement. Cheryl was about to snatch the biggest victory for the her career and she was watching it happen. Korra wasn’t moving much after the cross body. She was facing the lights with what looked to be the end of her winning streak and dominance all because she messed up and allowed Cheryl to come back. Her good leg was dangling while her arms twitched but didn’t make any big movements while the count continued and the match came closer to the end when the ref was coming down one last time. Only for Korra to remind people that she was a mountain to overcome, pushing her arms up and forcing a break at what had to be the last second. “Come on!” Amber dropped her head against the apron before looking back up and watching the match again. The suspense was killing her but now she really felt Cheryl had a chance.
