Chigusa Yuuki vs. Lyra Heartfield - Apex Qualifier Match

After dealing three consecutive German suplexes on Lyra, Chigusa went for the pin, bridging her own body. Still, Lyra managed to kick out after two, and Chigusa let go of her opponent's waist as she got herself onto her knees. Seeing Lyra trying to crawl away, Chigusa rose back up onto her feet before she made her way to her side, bending down to grab her by her head.

"Up you go..." Chigusa told Lyra as she planned to get one arm between her legs and another across her shoulder, lifting her up before slamming her down onto the mat with a body slam.

Lyra was lifted up into the Bodyslam, but Lyra saw it coming in a quick vision and wiggled her way into the back of her opponent. The fortune teller wrapped her hands around the neck of Chigusa and her legs around the body of her opponent to wrench on the neck. Not convinced this would put away Chigusa, this would at least buy Lyra time to think of any other plans of action.

When Chigusa was about to body slam her opponent, Lyra quickly wiggled her way out of her grasp and slipped to her back. Unable to react to this, Chigusa was caught by her opponent who wrapped her arms around her neck and her legs around her waist. Grunting, Chigusa tried to get herself out of this predicament by falling backwards, hoping that by landing on top of Lyra, she would be able to get her to let go of her neck and hopefully waist, freeing herself out of the hold she was being subjected into.

Lyra didn’t think ahead fast enough as Chigusa fell backwards slamming Lyra on the canvas with a big thud. Lyra held her back and rolled away from her opponent breathing in heavily as she had to recover.

Falling backwards and sending Lyra down onto the mat, Chigusa fell on top of her, no doubt dealing some damage as well. Quickly picking herself up, she saw Lyra rolling herself away from her, so Chigusa would follow after her, planning to grab her by her head before pulling her up. This time, she was going to send Lyra down with a side slam, hoping to inflict more damage on her.

Lyra kept herself away from Chigusa, but saw the woman grab her blonde hair picking her up, but Lyra would try to quickly tackle Chigusa down on the ground and grab the left leg. If she could, she would try to lock in a leg lock on Chigusa’s left leg wrenching down hard on it.

Before she could execute her side slam, Chigusa was tackled by Lyra who then grabbed one of her legs. When Lyra was about to lock her into a leg lock, Chigusa would immediately try to roll over, rolling Lyra onto her front before she locked her into a leg lock of her own. But instead of focusing only on her legs, Chigusa would stand up before she fell backwards, looking to grab onto Lyra's head, putting her into a Muta lock!

Lyra screamed in pain as Chigusa had her in the painful Muta Lock wrenching hard on the chin. Lyra would try to raise her elbow in order to bash it against the side of Chigusa’s head as fast as possible seeing the pain getting to her.

Locking Lyra in the Muta lock, Chigusa could hear her opponent's screams of pain, though due to the elbow being smashed repeatedly at the side of her head, Chigusa had no choice but to relinquish the hold shortly after this before rolling herself off of her. Putting some distance between herself and Lyra, she would then push herself back up, groaning as she rubbed the spot that was struck by Lyra's elbow earlier.

Lyra would hold her chin getting back up to stare down Chigusa with a glare as she was determined to get back in the driver’s seat. She would take off running to hit a strong Lariat to get Chigusa down and then follow up with a big Elbow Drop!
