Misaki Toyoda vs. Tiki Lowell - Apex Qualifier Match

Misaki grunted as she was being squeezed in the bearhug. She gritted her teeth as she tried to muster her effort to break free, but it seemed that Tiki had another thing planned for her as she brought one arm down between her legs before she lifted her up, putting her over her shoulders. Unable to stop her opponent, Misaki was held in a torture rack.

"AAHHH!!"

Misaki cried out a her body was bent in the submission hold. Grimacing in pain, Misaki would immediately try to get her arm around Tiki's head as her body was wrenched in the hold, hoping to yank and wrench at it so that Tiki would be having difficulty maintaining the hold. Misaki needed to get out of this hold before she took too much damage from it.

It was kinda funny, really. Tiki had transitioned out of her bearhug into a torture rack to stop Misaki from escaping, yet it was the torture rack that the Berserk Ace would manage to escape from. Misaki reached out with arm and got ahold of Tiki's chin. Then with that grip, she started yanking the greenette's head backwards to throw her off balance and make Tiki lose her hold.

"Gah!" Tiki hissed as her neck got cranked back and to the side. With this added force pulling her back alongside Misaki's weight on her shoulders, Tiki was staggering backwards as she tried to stay upright. If she could make it to the ropes, perhaps the veteran wrestler could lean on them for balance. But Misaki was able to topple Tiki before she could make it. The greenette lost her balance completely and fell onto her back, dropping Misaki onto the floor as well in the process.

Misaki's effort bore fruits as Tiki lost her balance, forcing her to drop her down onto the mat. Misaki grunted as she hit the mat, landing on her back. She didn't want to lose this opportunity as she managed to gain an upper hand here, so as soon as she landed, Misaki immediately sat up and looked at the direction of Tiki who had fallen onto her back.

From there, Misaki would try to get her legs around Tiki's head, looking to clamp her thighs together right at the side of her head. She seemed to be planning to put her opponent into a headscissor, squeezing her head between her thick and powerful thighs.

Tiki knew that Misaki was hitting her or locking her into something. Her position was to advantageous for Tiki to stop, and the greenette assumed the Berserk Ace would be smart enough to not try for something overly greedy that might give Tiki time to respond. Unfortunately, Tiki would be proven right. Misaki quickly rotated her body to line herself up with Tiki's, then locked her thighs around the vet's neck for a headscissor.

"Gah!" groaned Tiki as she felt the squeeze Misaki was putting on her skull. Her head was locked in place, her eyes only able to look straight ahead at Misaki's legs, tensed and powerful as they bore down on the greenette. The pink clad wrestler hadn't gone for the throat. She had Tiki's head locked between her thighs like it was a chestnut between the teeth of a Christmas toy soldier. "Aah, ugh," Tiki groaned. "Strong, but you should've went for my throat. I'll escape long before I tap." Tiki was hoping this would bait Misaki into trying to switch the target of her scissors. If she did, Tiki would be ready to pull Misaki's legs apart and push them away the moment she let up. If the Berserk Ace did something else, well then they'd just have to see.

Making use of her thighs to squeeze Tiki's head in the headscissor, Misaki tilted her head as she heard her opponent's words. Misaki thought about it for a second, having a feeling that her opponent might be planning to do something here. In the end, she decided to shift the hold a little, loosening the scissor so that she could clamp her legs around Tiki's throat, though this might give Tiki a brief window to escape. But at the very least, the headscissor should've dealt some damage on Tiki already to weaken her.

Tiki's psychological maneuver against Misaki to get the Berserk ace to loosen her headscissor worked just as hoped. The veteran wrestler had thought Misaki wasn't going to take the bait when she hesitated for a moment, but when the pressure on Tiki's head let up, the greenette was fully ready to jump on the opportunity that was provided to her so that she could escape.

When Misaki let up the pressure to move her legs, it created a small gap of space that Tiki could push her arms through. The presence of Tiki's arms between her head and Misaki's thighs alone all but killed the scissor, but there was still more work to do for Tiki to escape the disadvantageous position entirely. Once her arms were up through far enough that her elbows were at the level of Misaki's thighs, Tiki started bowing out her arms. Digging her elbows into Misaki's legs as she pushed them away completely, creating enough room for the greenette to get up.

A quick glance at the clock showed that time was starting to run low. If the two women reset to a neutral position, it would take a highly uncharacteristic error from one of the two wrestlers to be beaten within the time limit. Tiki had to potentially take a risk and go in now, or this match would go to time. Misaki was on the ground. If she tried to get up while Tiki was this close, the greenette could go on the attack from a position of strength. But if Misaki stayed down on her back, it'd be a solid, defensible position that would be incredibly dangerous to go after.

The moment Misaki loosened her hold, Tiki immediately took advantage of it, pushing her arms through the small openings. Before she knew it, Misaki's hold around Tiki's head became much looser and looser to the point where the hold had become a lost cause. Soon enough, Tiki was able to free herself from the hold, and the greenete got up.

With Misaki still on her back, she knew that getting up while Tiki was this close would be a risky move. So, Misaki decided to make use of this position to her advantage by attempting to get her own legs around Tiki's, planning to yank at them so that Tiki would fall backwards. If successful, she would try to maneuver her legs so that she could put her opponent into a figure four leglock.

Frankly, Tiki wasn't expecting Misaki to try standing up in her face. She'd either get distance on the ground before rising or try to do something from down low. Likely knowing that time was short as well, the Berserk ace would opt for the second option. Misaki's legs shot forwards towards Tiki's legs, but the veteran was not caught unaware. She quickly jumped straight into the air, Misaki's legs grabbing air as they passed underneath Tiki's feet.

When Tiki's foot hit the floor, she'd have to make a split second decision. Misaki would likely kick her leg back out to try to take out Tiki's leg and ruin her landing, then try to follow up. So Tiki had to either jump back to safety, and accept the match going to time, or jump forward onto Misaki, and go for it all. The smart decision was to back off. Misaki was genuinely at Tiki's level. She was capable of punishing the brunette if she went down there and made a mistake.

Yet when the ball on Tiki's foot hit the mat, the greenette found herself pushing forward for the very reason she was should be backing off. This was the first fight where she was against an opponent capable of beating her clean. Tiki couldn't just settle for an easy tie. Because even if two fighters are on the same level, no two fighters are truly equal. And Tiki wanted to see whether or not she was that little bit better. So a frog splash onto Misaki's stomach it was.

It turned out that Tiki had already anticipated it as she jumped up before Misaki could catch her legs. And she then saw Tiki coming down onto her with a frog splash. Having no time to actually roll away, Misaki took the full brunt of the splash, and she winced as she felt her opponent weight pressing down on top of her.

"NGH!!"

Still, the impact wasn't as damaging as expected, because Tiki wasn't jumping off from an elevated position, but it still left Misaki winded. Even so, she would try to push Tiki off of her so that she could attempt to get her legs around her midsection so that she could put her into a body scissor. But she knew that it wouldn't be easy and she would need to think of another move in case if it failed.

Tiki's splash landed onto Misaki's body with a loud smack of flesh against flesh. The Berserk Ace definitely felt the hit, but by no means did it put her down or out. Misaki was trying to push Tiki away and get her legs around the veteran's waist almost as soon as the splash landed. But with the advantageous top position, Tiki wouldn't have her attack reserved that easily.

In a somewhat similar fashion to how she had escaped Misaki's headscissor, Tiki would would get an arm between her body and one of Misaki's legs as it was trying to close in to secure a grip. The veteran would hook her arm around the inside of her opponent's knee to prevent Misaki from locking in. But Tiki was trying to win, not just defend. She had to be attacking as well.

So Tiki would lean her body in, fighting through Misaki's attempts to push her away. The greenette would try to hook her arm behind Misaki's arm and push it out of the way, then sliding her own arm up Berserk Ace's back and try to secure a headlock, then Tiki would pull Misaki's head against her side and start trying to choke Misaki while twisting her neck and back.

It was a display of simultaneous offense and defense that only experts and masters of the wrestling craft could perform. Tiki and Misaki's bodies were tangled as they each tried to push forward with their own offense while defending against the attack of their opponent. Tiki had to keep careful tabs on Misaki's legs and the positioning of her own body to ensure the pink clad wrestler didn't pull anything to get her scissor or land anything else tricky with her legs, while also fighting to get her arm past Misaki's arm and to her head. Misaki was in the opposite position; trying to make something happen on the attack with her legs while also needing to keep Tiki's arm blocked off. The slightest mistake could spell defeat.
