Cheryl Williams vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifier

Though her kick connected she could tell that Korra wasn't done, she stomped the mat to show off and after a second she lunged at her to show off her speed. Cheryl's hands came up to defend herself since she knew dodging these would be a lot harder, and was proven right when the hits came in hard, hits to her head were somewhat easy to dodge but the shots at her chest needed her arms to block or deflect. She knew this might seem like a bad idea but to wait for an opening before anything knocked her out she had to give something back and make Korra pause.

Going low after another missed headshot she would aim for Korra's chin with an uppercut, before trying to send a few to her chest to force her back. Keeping her guard up to try and avoid any counter punches she would focus on her face, aiming around or near her eyes to at least obscure her vision while she came up with an attack, and created an opening to exploit it.

It was laughable that someone like Cheryl thought she could survive close combat with her but she would watch her try anyway while she aimed for anything that would put Cheryl down. Her head was elusive but her her tight body wasn’t so quick to elude her with a few punches hitting her bosom and sides while some were evaded or blocked. Cheryl slowed down after a few hits and wanting to waste little time ending the match Korra jumped in for a punch to her skull that Cheryl ducked and moved in on before she smacked her with an uppercut. The cost met bone and surprised Korra with the force behind it making her head change directions and shock her chin. She was just backing up when the follow up punches hit her chest and a sharp pain came to her breast bone. Cheryl’s punches were bony but sharp enough that Korra was suddenly defensive after a few hits and defended herself from them as much as possible. Seeing that she was somehow being pushed back by Cheryl motivated her to go right back at her and deny Cheryl any advantage by throwing a fast hook to Cheryl’s face when she tried to focus on her own.

Her rarely used boxing lessons came into play helping her move and avoid any kind of clean hit to her face, her body wasn't as lucky but most of it was on her chest which she could endure a little better. It was all worth it when her uppercut connected and actually forced Korra to back off when she followed it up with her chest punches making Korra feel that Cheryl had some power to spare, she wanted to make the fighter learn that she was dealing with a real threat and she would match Korra anyway she needed. She would start to aim for her face and try to force Korra all the way back...when the bigger fighter showed some of her speed and outpunched her to catch Cheryl in the face.

"Uggghh!" Cheryl groaned as it felt like her face was getting rearranged. It was careless to get over eager but she thought she had an opening after that uppercut. Maybe the weight difference was a bigger hindrance than she thought. All that meant was that Cheryl was now a walking mess ripe for a follow up as she moved back, keeping her arms up to avoid a repeat to her noggin.

Effective punches or not Korra wasn’t going down that quickly. She still had something to say and with one quick punch she stopped Cheryl from continuing. “Shit! Cheryl stay focused!” Amber knew the signs of a dazed fighter and she didn’t want Cheryl looking loopy with such a born killer. Korra was licking her lips at the opening in front of her and would go low to hit Cheryl’s abs. Assuming she had any before trying to find an opening in her guard to hit her face once more. Amber could only watch and hope Cheryl knew how to stop those attacks.

Cheryl wanted to stay up, trying to follow Amber's words and keep on her guard but one hard hit from Korra had her rocked and unable to move right. She felt her feet struggling to move at her command and Korra seemed to be savoring her status like a piece of meat, she had to move now. Korra moved in and Cheryl's arm came up to block it, but it was her belly that Korra was aiming for.

"Oouugh!" Cheryl gasped, her arms nearly falling from the hard shot to the gut. She was completely unprepared for it and with the big girls power, it was already making her body struggle to avoid gagging and falling down. Korra didn't give her much time to think, throwing her next punch at Cheryl's face the moment she got an opening. "Puuggh!" Cheryl screamed as her face was hit across the cheek. The power left her smarting and stumbling back as far as she could but to her surprise she managed to stay on her feet, though her hand reached out for something to grab, ideally a rope to help steady herself and not fall over as her hand went to her head and tried to ease her pain.

A few punches and that defense cracked like an egg. Cheryl was a hacking mess in front of her who was now open to anything Korra wanted to do. But now that she had punched her out she could really hurt Cheryl. While she was on the ropes Korra would rush Cheryl to make sure she couldn’t get away and jump at her to hit Cheryl on the head with a V-trigger. Early match or not big moves like that would turn Cheryl into a helpless chew toy quickly just like she wanted.

This was getting bad, while she could take hits being surprised by one punch from Korra made the others feel worse and know she was stumbling around like she was a senior citizen who'd just had her cane snatched from her. Not the tough image she wanted to maintain and knowing she was going to be fighting just to get back up. She heard Korra stomping towards her and looked up in time to see the big fighter throwing a knee aimed right for her face, with nothing for her to do but bring her arm up and try to prepare for impact.

"Gaaggh!" Cheryl groaned with the knee digging into her temple and pushing her head into the ropes. The impact was enough that Cheryl slipped and fell to the floor, putting her in a bad position against Korra. She knew that fighting her on her feet would be hard but this surpassed her early estimates and she might end up paying for her miscalculation.

The knee knocked Cheryl down. Senseless and helpless to Korra’s whims as her quickness fell apart under true speed and power like the one she possessed. “You wanted a spot at Apex? What a joke.” No mercy would be given to her and she could do anything she wanted. Right now she felt like making Cheryl crawl back to the ring and struggle just to get her ass beat more. Grabbing Cheryl by her hair to force her back up with a harsh pull so she could lift her up and throw her out of her ring. Now Cheryl could either stay outside and show everyone what a coward she was by getting counted out or get back in the ring knowing what would happen.

Cheryl wasn't even down for very long before Korra grabbed her hair and started to pull her up, forcing her to go along with her and prepared for whatever Korra wanted to next as she could only whine being pulled up with her. Forced back to her feet Korra lifted her up and seemed to be ready to throw her out of the ring, from this height and with the power Korra usually had that was not a good sign. Cheryl started to fight despite her daze, refusing to let herself be dominated and fighting to break out of her hold.

Throwing her fists at Korra Cheryl eventually try to grab her head and hold onto it, relying on her strong grip to try and stop Korra from being able to bring her down and even try to fight her way out of her grip and down to her feet, before attempting to throw another kick to Korra's legs. Trying to hit it repeatedly and keep her hold of Korra's head and stopping her from throwing her around.

Cheryl was deadweight in her arms and she expected to throw her over with ease. Once she was close to trying Cheryl suddenly tried to fight out for some desperate last attempt at safety. Korra didn’t expect such a fight or for Cheryl to hit her near her eye and stop her from going through with throwing her out. Amber started to get hopeful Cheryl would free herself before Cheryl grabbed her head and actually finished slipping out of her grip before she started to kick Korra’s leg again. The sudden attacks on her knee were quick and worst of all painful. So Cheryl had some knowledge and skill at working limbs. It didn’t mean she was any good. “So you haven’t learned to stay down?” Korra couldn’t free herself under attack but she did grab the leg kicking her so she could pull it in and end that little annoyance with a bit of force by pulling on Cheryl’s leg.
