Allen Riley vs. Mary Clarison - Apex Qualifier Match

With her improvised pinfall attempt, Allen managed to catch Mary off-guard, and the referee went to count for the pin. She almost got her, though Mary managed to kick out, albeit barely. Freed from the hold, Allen gasped and panted as she would get herself on all four, sweat dripping off her face. She almost got Mary, though her opponent was still able to kick out.

"Nghh..." Grunting, Allen would force herself back up onto her feet, scrunching up her face. She had been subjected to various submission holds from Mary, leaving her exhausted. Still, she refused to stay down as she was determined to defeat the blue-haired beauty. Though for now, Allen was planning to recover, and she would try to keep her eyes on Mary to see what she was up to next.

Mary was heavily panting from the surprise of how Allen managed to get her in that pinfall attempt. It just reminded Mary of the issues and caveats of the submission based style she works. She slowly brought herself up to her feet, and saw Allen had gotten to all fours. Mary saw an opportunity, seeing how tired Allen was.

Mary slowly approached Allen, and if she did, would try to get on Allen's back, and then wrap her arm around the front of Allen's neck, trying to lock in a Dragon Sleeper on the purple and black clad wrestler.

Mary just hoped her tiredness would not affect her, as she works a slower wrestling style.

As Allen tried to recover, Mary went towards her and got herself on her back before she wrapped her arm around the front of her neck, putting Allen into a dragon sleeper. Allen's head was forced back in the hold, and she had to endure it as her head was wrenched back.

"NNHHHH!!"

Exhausted from everything that she had taken, Allen would bring her hands onto Mary's arm in her attempt to pry it off her neck. She grunted, trying to exert her waning strength in prying that arm off of her. She wasn't sure if she could make it, though she hoped that she still had enough strength to do so.

Mary was trying her hardest to put Allen away, knowing that she was tired herself. Another big blow from Allen meant that Mary had her doubts about whether she could kick out of any ensuring pinfall attempt. So locking on the Dragon Sleeper was the best thing she could do in an attempt to take Allen out, hoping she won't have enough energy to resist.

Mary felt Allen trying to pry Mary from her grip, she could feel it become a little looser. She knew if she did not do something, Allen would break her grip and force her to let go of the hold. So Mary thought of a solution.

She repositioned herself and put her foot right behind Allen's knees, and then attempted to pull Allen back even further, locking on a Romero Dragon Sleeper.

Not only that Mary refused to let go of her from the dragon sleeper, she even adjusted the hold on Allen, turning it into a Romero dragon sleeper. "AAHHHHHH!!" Due to the renewed pressure, Allen knew that she wouldn't last this hold and even if she continued resisting, she knew that she would pass out eventually. So, the only way for her to prevent herself from being knocked out was to submit.

"I-I SUBMIT! I SUBMIT!!" Allen cried out desperately as she tapped on Mary's arm, submitting to her. The pain was getting more and more unbearable, and if this continued, she might even lose her consciousness. Seeing that Allen had submitted, the referee would sound the bell before urging Mary to let go of her so that she could be declared the winner of this match.

Mary took a deep sign of relief, at last it was over. To Mary, it was a real grind trying to win the match against Allen Riley, but she had somehow done it. Maybe she does deserve to be in this whole APEX thing after all. With Allen submitting, Mary had no reason to cause Allen any more pain. And she near instantly let go of the hold she locked on, still questioning to herself how she even thought of that.

Mary needed to take a few deep breathes, the match had dang near worn her out, and if her last submission attempt failed, she would have been a goner. Mary decided to slowly rise back up to her feet, her body teetering trying to hold her up, as the referee raised her arm and declared her the winner. A small, rare smile came out of the shy bluenette, as the crowd roared in applause for her. Maybe becoming the Openweight Champion was not as impossible as she thought it would be.

However, she was still worried about Allen. She needed to check on Allen, make sure her fellow wrestler was not seriously hurt. Mary knew how brutal her submissions can be, and Allen's screaming certainly made it sound like she was in pain.

Mary's compassion showed, as she held her open hand down to Allen, hoping she would pick it up as the crowd anticipated what would happen next. Mary held nothing against Allen, and just wanted to make sure she was okay and thank her for the match that pushed Mary to her limit. And hopefully Allen does not hate it, though she probably gets why Allen would hate her.

"Um... Thanks for the match. Are you okay, Allen?" Mary uttered, a voice only her and Allen heard.

Allen was finally let go from the hold, and she gasped in pain as she slumped against the canvas. It seemed that she had lost to Mary. The taste of defeat sure was bitter, but she had to accept it. At the very least, she was glad that she lost against someone like Mary. The match was fought fair and square, with no cheating or dirty play happening at any point of the match.

While she was still on the mat, Allen noticed that Mary held out her hand at her. Looking at Mary's face, she just smiled blandly as she accepted the hand, allowing herself to be pulled up. "...I think I'll live." Allen said simply, answering Mary's question. She gave Mary a quick pat on her back after a quick hug. "Congratulations. Hope we can fight again sometime."

Despite the loss, Allen walked out of the ring with a positive outlook in life. Sure, she might have lost, but at the very least it taught her a lesson that would surely help her in future matches. She promised to herself to do better so that she could emerge victorious after defeating her opponents in the ring. For now, she had to make do with another L in her record.

What a relief, Mary thought to herself, she was so glad that Allen did not hate her after putting her in that brutal submission. They really pushed each other to their limits this time. But Mary made a statement that she was a viable contender for LAW Apex, and it was an enjoyable match.

The two hugged each other, and Mary felt comforted by Allen's sportsmanship. She let out a smile as well, and when Allen left the ring, Mary waved to her, and then waved and bow to the crowd on all sides.

This was a proving point for Mary, one that will hopefully lead to her becoming LAW Openweight Champion.
