History: With a family like Fatima’s, one would be hard-pressed to imagine that their daughter would turn out to be so bold and uninhibited. Raised in a strict and traditional household, her parents held strong expectations for her future, emphasizing discipline and modesty. Her mother married young, and her older brothers all followed structured, respectable career paths.

Fatima, however, was different. From an early age, she questioned everything about the values she was expected to uphold. The biggest reason for this? She liked other girls. But in a deeply conservative environment where anything outside the norm was frowned upon, she was forced to keep that part of herself hidden. She constantly felt stifled, knowing that if her family ever found out, she would be cast aside.

So when the opportunity came to leave her home country for school, she took it without hesitation. Her parents were hesitant about her traveling to the West, but when she suggested Japan, they were much more receptive. The country’s reputation for safety and discipline aligned well with the structured upbringing they envisioned for her.

School was just an excuse though, as Fatima really went for freedom from her family and opportunities that didn’t exist in her country. She took this opportunity to really explore herself, striking up relationships with other girls she met in her international school, becoming very open about her sexuality and the things that she liked. Even when her parents found out about what she was doing, she didn’t really care. She had learned to take care of herself, and if they didn’t accept her she didn’t need them anymore.
