Her biggest rivalry back at AWA!

Personality:

Rumi is some sort of the stereotypical girl next door. She’s kind and compassionate, always willing to see the good in others and the potential in everyone. There are no lost causes to her, so she would always try and help someone out, either at work with training or out with any problem they could have. Making friends comes natural to her because she’s friendly by nature, always keepin others’ comfort in mind. In a way this could be seen as a little exasperating, but she’s good at reading people and knows when her optimism could get contagious and better the atmosphere in a room. She isn’t stupid though, and when she’s with someone less receptive to her energy she tones herself down and adopts a way more mellow approach. Rumi’s a dreamer that always tries her best to better herself and anyone she cares about. In matches, however, she can be very competitive since this is the way she expresses herself as a wrestler, so her attitude is more down-to-earth when she’s wrestling.

History:
If there was someone who one could see was fated to become a professional wrestler that was Hiiragi Rumi. Since she was a child she was absolutely obsessed with Puroresu Wrestling, either watching it on TV and even visiting the VIP stands now and then since her uncle was no other than Ishikawa Reiji “Flying Ace”. Needless to say that the young Rumi was her uncle’s number one fan and from there on her interest in wrestling only grew, to her parent’s dismay who started panicking when she was old enough to start ponderint undertaking pro-wrestling training. Seeing her parents’ anguish Reiji, who was contemplating retirement at that stage, made her parents a promise: if she ever decided to become a wrestler he would be there to help her out.

No sooner said than done, when she was done with her studies Rumi started undertaking training under her uncle. From the very beginning of her appearances Rumi was marketed as some kind of successor to the Flying Ace, but then fate intervened. Reiji was proved involved in some gambling embezzlement plot and he was trialed and convicted. What was worse, he and his circle were publicly marked as a non-desireable individual and Rumi’s public emergent image was tainted by this, seen as her uncle’s successor. This was a heavy blow for Rumi who not only saw her hero and relative disgraced for who he really was but her fledging wrestling career ended even before it could properly start.

Things were rough for the following years. Rumi kept training but at every tryout she would show up she would hear the same excuses. No one wanted anything to do with her because of who her uncle was and this almost crushed Rumi’s dream and her spirit. However, there was a sliver of hope, a small, indie wrestling federation named AWA that offered her a place in their roster. Taken aback by this second opportunity, Rumi took it with utmost responsibility. She knew in order to seize this second chance her image would have to become irreproachable, and just that she did.

Years later Rumi had grown a reputation on her own, not one dependent on her roots or her past, and even held the AWA Young Promise title belt for some time. Life looked better for her now, and it was going to get even better when a LAW representative approached her in order to give her an opportunity to shine on the big stage. She couldn’t say no to an opportunity like that.

Trivia:
  • Rumi is left-handed, which can give her an edge to surprise rivals at certain points.
  • She loves cats, but since she cannot have pets in her apartment she likes hanging around at a cat café close to where she lives.
  • Her parents support her but they are so scared of her getting injured, not to mention “the things you do in a bikini”, as her mother would put it. They have an agreement: they don’t meddle with her career and she doesn’t tell them anything about it.

Plot Ideas/Preferences
Preferred matches – Standard, submission, Ironperson, apartment, mat wrestling. All of them with their hentai variants. No hardcore or no-holds-barred/no disqualification.
Attitude towards hentai: “Ooh, kinky. Okay, sign me in.”
Possible Opponents – Even if she could fight anyone, rivals who attune to her attitude either by affiliation or contrast could be the best match for her. She likes bantering while fighting and always give her all, leaving the ring with a positive taste even in defeat and if she can she would take rivalries in a healthy way, even becoming friends with her rivals.
