Melody "Mikan" May was a highly intelligent yet socially awkward kid. Her shyness and intense curiosity led her to become a shut-in, spending most of her time watching anime, sci-fi, and action films. Her fascination with fictional worlds made her feel more at ease in imagined realities than in the real world, and she began mimicking characters' mannerisms to learn about social interactions. Even with this, she was more just seen as a funny weirdo, leading her to struggle to make real friends.
One day, Melody was invited to a free local wrestling show, where the matches' larger-than-life personalities and intense energy captivated her. Inspired for one of the first times in a long time, she decided to train and eventually created her own in-ring persona, “Project Cosmolux,” an alien explorer visiting Earth to challenge and learn from its greatest warriors.
Outside the ring, Melody is quiet, introspective, and often hesitant to approach others. She feels more at ease analyzing situations from afar and is highly observant, with a tendency to jot down details about people, strategies, and even potential weaknesses in her notebook. This quiet, introspective side can make her seem aloof, but she’s ultimately earnest and compassionate.
As Project Cosmolux, she undergoes a complete transformation. In the ring, she embodies her alien persona to a T, confidently proclaiming herself a visitor from the stars on a mission to learn Earth’s fighting techniques. She’s bolder, more eccentric, and enthusiastically claims to have an “IQ of well over 200,” declaring each new victory to be an “upgrade.” Her notes become “ship logs,” and she explains her mimicking of others’ moves as “cultural research.” Despite her bravado, Cosmolux sometimes struggles when teased or taunted, dropping her confident façade momentarily, and if she has her mask stolen, she is practically helpless to fight back. However, she’s highly analytical and learns from her losses, using her mimicry and adaptability to secure unexpected victories.
