Personality
Li is a rather terse individual, her upbringing “graced” her with a thick shell and a limited ability to express herself with later experiences only compounding on that, making her tend to isolate herself from most people.

The one way she has been able to connect with people around her was though is ironically enough through one thing she made her entire life revolve around, that being fighting itself. Granted, not everyone is able to achieve even that given she’s rather easily bored in that aspect but the few people that managed to break through her shell in that way tend to see a different picture of her even outside of the ring. She has in the past described fighting as the most intimate you can really be with another person and though many have joked about that statement since she holds firm to that belief as long as both participants conduct themself respectfully.

Those who become closer to her are greeted with Li’s rather dry and dark sense of humour, often delivered in a completely deadpan tone to an effect even more so amusing to her. The tersnes never really goes away but she is more likely to actually have a conversation and is always honest tending not to mince her words even when she probably should.

Wrestling Information

Strategy: Li is quite frankly a nightmare to fight. Preferring to stand at a distance in a long guard, manipulating her opponent’s perception as she methodically takes them apart, dismantling their strengths with strategically placed strikes and counters before going for a finish in a standup or taking it to grappling. Admittedly her style lacks the flashiness expected of a pro wrestler but in her eyes, efficacy should make up for that.

Style: Striker/Submision specialist

Preferred Attacks: punches, kicks, knees, elbow strikes, chokeholds

Preferred Matches: Any

Attitude To Hentai: ”I hope you know what you’re getting yourself into…”

Past
Li would summarise her early life as inconsequential. She was born to a conservative Chinese family in Hong Kong, much to her parent's disappointment as they wanted a boy. That eventually led to them largely neglecting Li who in her early years instead latched onto her family from abroad. Particularly idolizing Huan who while Li was still young started making her career in martial arts.

Her parents, predictably were not fond of that fact, seeing what the young girl’s aunt was doing as unbecoming of a woman and wanted their child to have nothing to do with martial arts. The problem was, Li already developed a rebellious streak and while she herself would not be able to finance any sort of training, as soon as her aunt found out, which was almost immediately the young girl did all she could do to stay in contact with her, she did all she could to support her niece’s dreams in secret from her parents.

At first, it was difficult as Li still tried to keep up appearances but the older she got, the more she realized that her parents didn’t actually care what she was doing. Granted, if they found out, they’d probably try to stop it but they never cared for her grades and so gradually Li started devoting more and more time to her passion while being satisfied by just passing her classes.

When she finally turned 18, a lot of things happened. Firstly, she applied to compete which would inevitably pop the double of secrecy but before it could, her parents had a surprise of their own for her. They wanted to arrange a marriage for her with a son of a wealthy businessman, something that she had no interest in. That day an argument broke out between them with all the pent-up frustrations and secrets coming to light, her parents eventually threatening to disown her if she did not drop martial arts and follow their plan for her. The very same night Li left her family home.

It was tough at first, trying to find employment that would allow her to still train and compete at the level she wanted to was not easy and though she knew she could count on Huan, her pride did not let her ask for help. She’d eventually come to regret that as she did find an investor that could put her worries at ease, the local triads.

She of course knew it was not smart to associate with those types but she chose to believe they were just feeding their hobby by supporting her, besides she was not the only one and she did not hear of them messing with people on their payroll. It stayed that easy for a long time, long enough for Li’s name to become widely known and for a shiny new belt to find its way around her waist. She was on the top of the world, a champion of at the time biggest MMA federation in Asia.

That was when the request came, she was to lose her next title defence. Her opponent was the daughter of a high-up member of the triad clan that supported her before though at that point she did not them anymore. Upon further investigation, the woman she was going to fight only got that chance because her other fights were also staged and there was no way Li was going to play that game.

She finished the fight in under a minute, not even able to leave the cage bofer being told she’d regret that. The next week, while in travel, her engine malfunctioned, lading to fuel ignition right in the city center. She was rescued from the wreck though her chances for survival were slim. She did recover however, no further attempts at her life were made, possibly as a result of both a criminal investigation into that case as well as another clan taking over the operations in the area. Regardless, she was not gonna risk it anymore. Getting involved with triads in the first place was a terrible idea and she wanted a fresh start, as it happened, her aunt recently got just that in japan and so, Li would follow.

Family:
Huan - Aunt. Huan was the woman who inspired Li to pursue martial arts and especially after she moved out of Hongkong they became very close.

Friends:
Kate - Admittedly, they don’t know each other too well and they mostly interacted through sparring. Still, they get along very well, especially considering how little time they spend together.
