Due to her harsh upbringing, Annie has become an isolated, exclusionary person; friendships do not come to her easily. She is rarely seen smiling and often has an emotionless expression. Annie is apathetic and somnolent, with little desire to put in any effort into meaningless disciplines or activities. While Annie tends to have a realistic outlook on life, she holds a fascination and even feelings of respect towards people who have a deep sense of duty and righteousness—people who devote their lives to what they believe in.
Backstory

Annie was born a bastard to a high-class individual. Rather than take responsibility for his child. Annie was left alone in the streets. Even to this day, Annie isn’t sure what happened to her mother. Not that she cares enough about her now to do anything. Annie would be and later adopted by Mr. Leonhart, a retired military operative who had a hand in illegal fighting. Annie’s adoptive father intended to train her to become a fighter so that he could live a privileged life. This meant that from a young age, Annie underwent rigorous combat training with Mr. Leonhart. These tortuous sessions put Annie near death; at least, that is what she felt like. Annie would eventually become as strong as he wanted, but Annie wasn’t going to thank her adoptive father. Instead, to retaliate for all she had endured, she attacked him and left him permanently crippled. The brutal training left her insensitive towards others, unable to find any value in any relationships.
At some point in her adolescence, Annie joined the underground fighting circuit. Annie thought that she might as well used what she learned to make a living. Annie was praised as impeccable for her fighting abilities. Displaying a level of skill that impressed most people she fought against. During her small stint in the circuit, Annie had eventually reached the highest stage in becoming a champion. Seeing as how he has connections in the underground scene, Mr.Leonhart would find this out—genuinely feeling bad about his actions from before. He wanted to apologize and only be there to help Annie. Not one to hold grudges, and seeing as how Mr.Leonhart paid for it already. She forgave him despite what he’s done. Now together, Annie would continue to earn her living through her fights. Mr.Leonhart suggested that if Annie was going to do this, she might also do it where there is more money—not caring much about the thrill of the fight or the honor. Annie listened because if there were more money to be made, then she’d be able to live more comfortably.
