Personality
Ranee is a proud woman first and foremost, a trait that only gets further exaggerated when she takes on her ring persona. From her youth she has been a large part of popularising wrestling in her country and bringing it to the mainstream appeal, practically being a face of woman wrestling in India and she is well aware of that as well as a plethora of other accomplishments.

She has also been noted to be very lively when compared to other women her age, not really skipping a beat to keep up with the younger folks though with time she grew to appreciate taking things at a slower pace, being a mother contributing to this quite a lot.

In that regard, Ranee is fiercely protective, she wants nothing but the best for her daughter and might even come off as overbearing at times which is something she actively tries to work on and let her precious child make her own way in life but old habits die hard.

Past

Ranee was born into a relatively wealthy family, her father was a known folk wrestler and her mother was a small but successful business owner. As such, from a very young age, Ranee grew up close to the sport and a more traditional discipline of wrestling, idolizing it early on and wanting to also take part in it. That, however, was not allowed, especially by her parents who were very devoted to traditions.

Eventually, her fascination with her father’s art passed to some extent and as it happened it coincided with pro wrestling gaining more popularity in India, with a lot of Indian athletes growing into prominence on the world stage. Ranee was immediately smitten with the show of it and the sport itself with its elaborate and complex moves, both intended for harm and to deliver an exciting performance for the audience.

Her parents were very sceptical of the idea of Ranee training in such a sport, seeing it as unfit for a woman but decided to let her try, expecting she’d bounce right off. The very opposite happened, the more she trained, the more time she wanted to devote to it, no matter how beat up she’d get during training, she’d always go for more. Her mother was not pleased with that fact but her father, seeing how much she loved it and understanding first-hand what love for a sport means knew they could not even consider taking something their daughter loved so deeply away from her and though it was a rocky road, both of them eventually accepted her path and even grew to cheer for her progress and supported her through any rough patches she might have encountered.

It didn’t take long until her trainers thought she was ready to make her first appearance on the local stage and though there weren’t really any other girls she could compete with, she was paired with a boy, just a year or two older than her. Such parring was certainly controversial already promising it to be a topic of discussion, only becoming more of one when Ranee won the match.

In the following weeks, her gym saw an influx of girls and young women wanting to give wrestling a shot and Ranee’s name itself made circles as she was already contacted by some bigger brands for possible contracts when she got older, meanwhile, she continued to train and wrestle on the local level, becoming somewhat of an icon of woman’s wrestling in her community and even beyond she was slowly starting to get recognised and though many criticised her, she remained undeterred.

Eventually, when she grew older she decided to sign up with one of the organisations that reached out to her, coincidentally the biggest brand in India at the time, just starting their woman’s division. With the big stage now in mind, Ranee decided to develop more of a presence in the ring, leaning into her preexisting reputation as the first woman in the Indian pro scene and crowned herself a queen, taking on some more animalistic motifs, as she was at the time the largest woman in the federation, she took to the largest feline predator, a tiger.

She quickly proved her title was not just a way to brag as she won the inaugural woman’s championship and held it for up until now unbeaten length of time. When she eventually lost the title, she also left the federation, going to compete on the global stage as her reputation preceded her and only kept growing with time, The Tiger Queen was widely recognised all over the globe among the women who really popularised the sport.

During the time she was signed in one of the American promotions, however, possibly the most important moment of her life took place. She has been for some time at this point dating one of her fellow wrestlers that she met by complete accident when they were paired together in a tag match with the whole intention of each wrestler not knowing much about the other and surprisingly they worked very well. After the match, they started to talk to each other, which turned to dating and after a year of that, marriage. It might have been a rush decision but Ranee would never say she regretted it as she would not have her daughter if not for that fact.

During the time she was pregnant and then taking care of young Amyra, she of course had to take a break from wrestling and even when she returned, initially she still tried to limit her appearances to be able to spend more time with her little cub. Still, she was beloved by the crowd and her return to the ring was one of the loudest wrestling events that year. Not all was well however.

Her husband, seeing Ranee’s return and the reception she received has grown bitter, not having the same following or success in his own career, even when they appeared together being just a sidenote to her greatness. That eventually would lead to arguments that were growing more and more frequent, any semblance of what they felt for each other once, slowly faded until there was nothing there to save. They divorced, with Ranee taking custody of their daughter, now determined to provide the best she could for the girl and make up for the stress said divorce caused in her life.

After the divorce, they moved back to Mumbai where a rapidly drawing wrestling promotion immediately saw an opportunity to capitalize on by signing Ranee on and with her and some other great talent it was catapulted to one of the biggest wrestling organizations in India. This however did not last long as the CEO of the company was found guilty of embezzlement, after this, the federation did not recover but with Ranee’s storied career, she quickly managed to snag another contract, this time with a company based in Japan known as LAW.

Relationships

Family: Amyra - Ranee’s beloved daughter. She initially tried shielding her from the world of wrestling but with the recent transition to law and it’s ongoing young lioness program she allowed her daughter to enrol as a test run, trying to let her pursue her own dreams more and not confine the girl.
