Romero Special

The victim is face-down on the mat with the attacker stepping onto the back of her thighs. The attacker then tucks the victim’s feet onto the inside of her lower leg and leans forward to slap the victim’s sides. This is done in order to cause the victim to swing her arms backward, so that the attacker can grab hold of them. Once the arms are secured, the attacker sits back, pulling on the victim’s arms while pushing forth with her legs. She continues the motion rolling onto her back and lifting the victim up eventually completing the hold at the top of the motion.

Background:

Kerri was born on the U.S. Naval Base in Yokosuka, Japan to a Japanese mother and an American serviceman after an unplanned pregnancy. Kerri’s father stayed long enough to name her but soon separated from her mother shortly after and returned to the United States.
After the separation, Kerri’s mother moved back in with her parents to help raise her daughter while she worked. Despite having dual citizenship, Kerri attended Japanese school. In her first year of middle school, Kerri was the target of bullying due to her mixed ethnicity and came to resent her father whom she had never met. By her third year of middle school, Kerri had grown much taller than her classmates and began to fight back against her bullies.

In high school, Kerri fell in with the delinquents in her class who; being outcasts themselves, were quick to accept her. Kerri’s grades suffered as she had little interest in academic affairs and would often skip school altogether. It was during this time that Kerri further developed her street fighting skills as she engaged in numerous gang fights after school. Soon fighting became Kerri’s outlet for all her frustrations and would often travel around town instigating fights with any students willing to take up her challenge, regardless of gender or size.
Kerri’s violent behavior caused serious trouble for her family after school officials began to suspect her parents of abuse after Kerri came to school with a bruised face on multiple occasions. Kerri was quick to tell the police what had actually caused her injuries but they insisted on questioning her mother and grandparents for several hours. Though the police concluded that there was no evidence of domestic abuse, the experience was humiliating for her family and Kerri was told to leave the house.

Kerri stayed with friends and got a job at a convenience store so she could save up money for a small apartment. Guilt-ridden for the trouble she had caused her mother, Kerri began attending school regularly and stopped fighting much to her friends’ dismay. Kerri managed to graduate high school and though she had put forth great effort to reform herself, she was still too embarrassed for her past behavior to dare return home.
Kerri began working full time at the convenience store in order to support herself but after a few years it became apparent that her meager wages were not enough to cover her mounting living expenses. As she was looking for a second job to help make ends meet, Kerri came across a promotional flyer for a new professional wrestling organization going by the name, LAW. While she was intrigued, Kerri was hesitant to join. She had worked hard to live non-violently and feared that all her work would be undone if she partook in such a sport.

Eventually the money offered was too good and Kerri signed on with the LAW organization. Kerri quickly remembered why she had loved fighting so much in the past but every time she experienced a feeling of joy while hurting someone in the ring she would immediately feel a twang of guilt as all her hard work to become a normal member of society slowly came undone.

Personality:

Ever since she decided to change herself for the better, Kerri has tried her best to communicate in a non-hostile manner but has trouble expressing herself normally. When forced to interact with others, Kerri will often stutter, take long pauses, or remain quiet leading to socially awkward situations. While she tries to avoid becoming angry, Kerri is far more capable of expressing herself when enraged, often relapsing into her old high school “Yankee” style of speech, which includes rolling her ‘R’s, liberal use of profanities, and referring to herself with boastful or masculine pronouns.

Kerri would like to get along with others but finds it difficult to form meaningful friendships due to her due to her lack of social skills, interests, or hobbies. Kerri is easily impressed by people intelligent people, so long as they aren’t arrogant, and can be surprisingly gullible as she can’t be bothered to fact check information and would rather just believe what she’s been told.

Kerri is aware of her own violent tendencies and tries to keep her sadistic inclinations suppressed to alternating degrees of success. Her street fighting style of wrestling is inherently rougher than other more orthodox wrestling styles but she attempts to keep it toned down. Kerri tries to end matches as quickly as possible and gains no pleasure from hurting a weaker opponent more than necessary. If an opponent proves to be equal or even stronger than herself, Kerri is far more likely to lose self-control and go all out in an effort to win.
