Asuka is an ambitious woman with unbridled ambition and a fiery, outspoken disposition. Combine that with her strong sense of pride and it is no surprise that conflict tends to find her. Asuka is no passive recipient of ire, however—she instigates conflict just as often as others instigate it against her, if not more. She aspires to make it to the top, even if it means being cutthroat. Asuka will use all manner of dirty tactics to get ahead—hair pulling, groin strikes, humiliation tactics, and pre-match sabotage are not off the table, especially while up against those whom she dislikes.
Asuka is also more than willing to flaunt her body and play to the crowd in order to get ahead. Yet, despite this, Asuka is quite resentful and insecure about the fact that people (ostensibly) mainly value her for her looks. Partly because of this, Asuka has a tendency to condescendingly flaunt her intelligence: she is highly intelligent, more so than the vast majority of people she meets, and is not afraid to make that known.
Deep down, Asuka feels unwanted, in large part due to her upbringing. She is afraid that others will not accept her and thus uses achievement and prestige as a surrogate for true acceptance. Asuka also has a hard time getting close to people as she fears that she is not likable and will get rejected. As a result, Asuka is quite lonely, although she takes care to hide this fact from others.
Moreover, Asuka is more than willing to play the villain as she does not believe that she is naturally likable—in her mind, if she is not going to be liked anyway, then she might as well use nefarious tactics to get ahead. Her use of underhanded tactics is oftentimes motivated by fear as she sometimes worries that she will not succeed otherwise. This is related to Asuka's strong, intrinsic desire to achieve. She feels as if she has to be the best, or at least among the best, in everything she does—she has a hard time accepting herself if she is not successful, and she fears that others will not accept her if she fails to succeed.

Durability: 7.75/10
Pretty durable, but isn't used to taking hard hits.
Stamina: 8.5/10
Has excellent cardio.
Strength: 6.5/10
Strong for her size but that is about it.
Speed: 8.75/10
Can move around with speed and grace.
Striking (Offense): 7.75/10
Fast kicks, fast hands. Asuka strikes fast, and her hits have quite a lot of sting to them. Her leg kicks are particularly nasty and can leave an opponent limping.
Striking (Defense): 7.5/10
Mostly relies on footwork to evade. Also utilizes head movement, albeit to a lesser extent. Not one to block unless absolutely necessary. Can be overwhelmed by aggressive opponents who throw lots of strikes and can cut off the ring.
Grappling (Offense): 7/10
Her grappling is solid, although it is not elite-level. She can apply submissions and control opponents fairly well. Asuka is skilled enough in grappling to utterly bully inexperienced grapplers on the mat, provided they don't have a size and/or strength advantage over her.
Grappling (Defense): 6.75/10
Asuka has a good grasp of the basics of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She knows her basic sweeps and reversals, as well as some more advanced ones. However, she would struggle against sufficiently skilled grapplers.

History
Part 1 (Click to expand)
Asuka should have had a cozy life. With her father being a wealthy European businessman and her mother being a famous Japanese model, it would have been natural to assume Asuka was destined for a life of luxury—but such was not the case. Instead, Asuka was conceived during a one-night fling. Shortly thereafter, Asuka's father left Japan, never to be seen again.
Asuka's mother Kiyoko had never truly wanted Asuka, but for personal reasons, Kiyoko did not decide to terminate her pregnancy or put Asuka up for adoption. Moreover, again for personal reasons, Kiyoko initially attempted to be a decent mother to Asuka, an endeavor that Kiyoko was somewhat successful at during the early years of Asuka's life. However, spurred on by the physical rigors of pregnancy and the subsequent responsibility of motherhood, Asuka's mother went inactive as a model, never to return.
The reasons for Kiyoko's permanent departure from the modeling world were multifaceted. At first, Kiyoko was simply too busy taking care of Asuka to continue modeling. But as Asuka grew older and care ceased to be a full-time commitment, Kiyoko's reasons became more endogenous. Kiyoko came to believe that she would be unable to compete in the world of modeling—how was she supposed to compete with younger and, in her mind, better-looking models? Women whose bodies have not been indelibly marred by childbirth? Kiyoko did not believe that the modeling industry would accept an imperfect specimen such as herself.
It took many months for Asuka to overcome the initial shock over her mother's sudden shift in demeanor, but eventually, Asuka did. Asuka eventually came to accept that, for some inexplicable reason, her mother had gone from somewhat attentive to only doing the bare minimum to take care of her. For several years, Asuka believed that it was her own fault that her mother went cold—that she had somehow done something to deserve such treatment.
A few years later though, a drunken tell-all courtesy of Kiyoko disabused Asuka of the notion that she was to blame for her mother's mistreatment of her. In a vitriolic diatribe, Kiyoko revealed everything: the one-night stand that resulted in Asuka's conception, the attempt to terminate the pregnancy, et cetera. During this torrent of abuse, Asuka realized that she was not to blame for her mother's behavior—but more importantly, Asuka got confirmation of what she had long since suspected: that she was unwanted.
After that incident, Kiyoko's treatment of Asuka crossed the line into negligence. Previously, Asuka had been treated like a houseplant: mostly ignored and given just enough nourishment to survive. Now, Asuka was a pest, the locus of Kiyoko's derision. Meals became scarce and clothes went unwashed. No longer could Asuka rely on her mother for basic care—Asuka had to take care of herself.
However, because of Asuka's young age, she had difficulty adapting to the independence that was suddenly foisted upon her. This fact, in conjunction with her mother's consistent verbal abuse, led to Asuka spending a lot of time away from home. When not at school, Asuka would spend most of her time at her friend Kaede's house, and only visited her own home to sleep. Additionally, Asuka would accompany Kaede to her karate lessons, which eventually resulted in Asuka learning karate as well.
Asuka also developed a slight, but ultimately temporary, tendency towards people-pleasing around this time, possibly due in part to a lack of approval from her mother. Asuka consistently attained top marks in school to boost her status. Additionally, Asuka became quite adept at getting in others' good graces and was generally well-liked by her teachers and classmates—although, save for Kaede, Asuka did not maintain any close relationships.
Asuka continued being a model student throughout the remainder of elementary school and all throughout middle school. She even managed to gain acceptance into an elite private high school alongside her friend Kaede. However, Asuka's mother was both unwilling and unable to pay the tuition for that school, and Asuka was forced to attend her local public high school. Kaede, on the other hand, went on to attend the aforementioned elite private school and ended up moving so that she would have an easier commute.
This left Asuka feeling betrayed, both by her mother and Kaede. It also deprived Asuka of her home-away-from-home, thus forcing her to spend more time at her actual home. No longer could Asuka avoid her difficult home life by staying with Kaede.
Ultimately, the start of high school marked a drastic shift in Asuka's personality. Bitterness over her perceived betrayals had seeped into Asuka's heart, and the constant conflict with her mother often left Asuka on edge. Outwardly, Asuka was abrasive—and sometimes even outright spiteful—towards her fellow students. She did, however, remain a stellar student and avoided antagonizing her teachers.
Yet, in spite of her unpleasant qualities, Asuka was no outcast in high school. Her stunning looks, intelligence, athleticism, and other intangibles gave her a certain allure—an allure that took Asuka to the top of her school's social hierarchy. People naturally gravitated towards Asuka, largely ignoring her mean tendencies. Asuka very much enjoyed this attention, and thus strived to put on a perfect facade. Maintaining a perfect facade naturally resulted in a lot of pressure, but Asuka was able to handle that pressure quite well. Unfortunately, Asuka was only able to form superficial interpersonal relationships at this time and thus did not have any close friends.
Furthermore, although Asuka had the admiration of her peers and teachers, she was still quite poor. Her mother worked a low-paying job and very little of that money was spent on Asuka. Asuka was quite resentful of her financial situation. Even deeper than that, Asuka had felt as if reality had shortchanged her by placing her in a broken home, with no genuine friends whom she could turn to. And knowing that her father was a wealthy businessman and that her mother was an elite model only made Asuka more resentful—with parents like that, should she not have ended up with a better life?
Asuka wished to escape poverty and gain more independence from her mother but was unsure of how to do so. As fate would have it, shortly after Asuka's sixteenth birthday, she was approached while in downtown Tokyo by a man claiming to be a model scout. Immediately, something seemed off, a feeling that only worsened as the meeting continued. Everything about the man seemed to belie a wretched insidiousness, from subtle body language to a salacious gaze. Before she signed any contracts, Asuka swiftly removed herself from the situation—but not before giving the man a ruptured testicle for his troubles.
The man was actually an AV scout, as Asuka later deduced. In other words, she had narrowly escaped a very bad situation. Still, despite escaping, the encounter unnerved Asuka. She decided to enroll in kickboxing classes—and later BJJ, Muay Thai, and boxing classes—to learn self-defense. The encounter had another effect as well: it gave Asuka the idea to become a model. But, because of her close call with the unscrupulous AV scout, the idea of trying to get into the modeling business by herself terrified Asuka. Thus, Asuka decided to turn to the one woman she knew who had modeling experience: her mother Kiyoko.
Surprisingly, Asuka's mother was actually quite helpful in kickstarting Asuka's modeling career. Using her connections and knowledge of the industry, Kiyoko managed to get Asuka a position with a reputable modeling agency, the same one Kiyoko used to work with. With her mother's help, Asuka began her meteoric rise in the world of modeling. However, Kiyoko did not help Asuka out of altruism. Kiyoko missed the model lifestyle and was deeply resentful of the way it ended. By helping Asuka to become a successful model, Kiyoko hoped to pull herself out of poverty and live vicariously through her daughter.
The fact that her breakout into the modeling world was not entirely due to her own merits caused Asuka a fair amount of dismay in and of itself. It caused Asuka even more dismay though that it was her mother, a woman who reliably neglected her beforehand, who helped her. But this dismay was offset by another factor: for the first time in roughly a decade, Asuka received parental approval, albeit mixed with harsh critique. This newfound parental approval motivated Asuka to do her absolute best in her new endeavor, which led to much success but also put a tremendous burden on her. However, mostly out of a desire to make money and please her mother, Asuka decided to stick with modeling for the time being.
Asuka's junior year of high school was hell. Between her mother's harsh training, strict modeling schedules that often necessitated travel, kickboxing training, and schoolwork, Asuka had very little free time. Her schoolwork also suffered. But through it all, Asuka honed an invaluable skill: time management.
By her senior year, Asuka had largely figured out how to balance her busy schedule. Her grades returned to being straight A's and she was no longer consistently suffering. Additionally, the elation at having parental approval had worn off, enabling Asuka to see the truth: that her mother was toxic and was living vicariously through her. Asuka also started thinking about her future around this time. Kiyoko wanted Asuka to forego higher education and continue modeling—under her management, of course. Asuka, on the other hand, felt a strong inclination towards attending university due to intellectual curiosity, not wanting her livelihood to be tied to something as transient as her looks, and being unsure if she wanted to continue modeling for the long term.
Ultimately, her mother's overbearing and controlling nature led Asuka to want to put as much distance between herself and her mother as possible—that meant putting an ocean between them as Asuka might have been followed otherwise. Asuka ended up taking the SAT in secret and applied to a number of American universities. Out of the universities she got accepted into, Asuka ultimately decided to attend a certain well-known and highly-regarded university in California (rhymes with "Danford") to study computer science. Finally, once the time came, Asuka cut ties with her mother and traveled to the United States to begin her higher education.
Asuka's first year of university saw her lighten up and become friendlier: a different social environment, being out from under her mother's thumb, as well as various intangibles contributed to this change. One thing that did not change, however, was Asuka's desire to achieve. While Asuka did not study excessively, she did make sure to perform well above average. Moreover, she valued competence over grades, and as a result, she would often try to understand underlying concepts rather than rely on memorization and pattern recognition.
By all accounts, Asuka had a blast her freshman year. Her social and academic lives blossomed, and she even ended up declaring a secondary major in electrical engineering. However, by her sophomore year, the reality of student loan debt began to set in. Due to being an international student, she received next to no financial aid. This meant that she had to shoulder the cost of school almost entirely via loans. Not wanting to be buried in student loan debt, Asuka decided to begin modeling again as a way to make money—after all, she was damn good at modeling and, save for her mother's incessant interference, enjoyed it quite a lot. Only this time, Asuka would model without the aid of her mother.
Asuka was quickly able to break back into the modeling industry and more-or-less resume where she had left off. Financing school ceased to be of concern as she was making ample amounts of money. However, being an elite model came with a lot of challenges. Constant travel and the sizable time commitment that modeling required made it difficult for Asuka to keep up with classes. In order to survive, she had to convince classmates to surreptitiously record lectures for her and physically turn in her assignments when she was absent. She also had a knack for getting in professors' good graces, who often afforded her extra leniency on deadlines. Asuka did not, however, cheat in her academics—that was a line she would never cross. Ultimately, Asuka managed to pull mostly A's and B's, despite her hectic schedule and rigorous program. And, on top of that, Asuka managed to find time to keep up with her martial arts training. Perhaps most impressive of all was the fact that Asuka was able to become quite competent both academically and as a martial artist despite her extremely busy schedule.
Eventually, as Asuka gained more and more renown in the world of modeling, her mother Kiyoko took notice. Asuka and Kiyoko had not been on speaking terms ever since Asuka defied Kiyoko's wishes and went to university. But seeing her daughter have so much success without her caused Kiyoko extreme anger. Kiyoko began calling and texting Asuka, spewing vitriol at her in an attempt to cut her daughter down. Although Asuka maintained the appearance of being unfazed by such abuse, deep down, Asuka was shaken. Doubt began to seep into her heart. Yet, Kiyoko's words also galvanized Asuka to chase success in order to spite her mother.
This doubt and desire for success, combined with increasing levels of competition, led Asuka to employ devious tactics in order to get ahead. Although Kiyoko had taught Asuka ruthlessness, Asuka took it to another level. She had no qualms about sabotaging other models to get ahead: wardrobe sabotage, laxative poisoning, and the occasional surreptitious leg kick were some of her favorite tactics. On one occasion, one of Asuka's fellow models was unable to walk for several hours after eating a leg kick from her—several hours that just so happened to include a photoshoot. On another occasion, Asuka even blackmailed a producer in order to artificially get ahead. While all of this behavior was common knowledge among her fellow models, producers and the general public were mostly unaware of Asuka's tendencies.
Asuka's behavior may have been cruel and morally questionable, but it did not seem to negatively impact her career—in fact, it ended up helping her career (although Asuka would have found success with or without the use of devious tactics). Asuka gained international fame and modeled all over the world. Additionally, she also completed her degree while being active as a model, and managed to pay off all of her student loans.
After graduating college, Asuka decided to continue working as a model rather than pursue a job in her academic field. She settled in Tokyo, using the ample amount of money she made as a model to rent a luxurious apartment (Asuka could not stay in the United States because her student visa expired). Yet, even though her life seemed to be coming together nicely, Asuka could not help but feel discontent. For starters, she did not feel intellectually fulfilled as a model. But, far more bothersome to her was the fact that people seemed naturally inclined to see her as nothing more than a pretty face. She had unsurprisingly experienced this in the modeling world, although she had also experienced this to a lesser extent in her undergraduate program as well.
Wanting to be more content, Asuka began considering her options. While she enjoyed modeling, she doubted that she would find fulfillment if she just did modeling and nothing else. Getting a job in her field of study would have been more intellectually fulfilling and would have allowed her to be more than just a pretty face—but the pay would be less and she did not feel like such a job would be exciting enough.
As fate would have it, around the time that Asuka had been evaluating her options, a LAW recruiter had cold-called her to offer her a place in LAW. For the recruiter, it was a one-in-a-million shot in the dark: surely there was very little chance that a hyper-attractive model who probably does not have any martial arts training would be interested in joining LAW. But, to the recruiter's surprise, Asuka actually considered the offer.
Asuka was tangentially familiar with LAW. She knew that there was more to LAW than simply being the best fighter. While fighting ability was important, looks and the ability to captivate the audience were also a large part of the game. And cheating, while not explicitly allowed, was permissible as long as one could get away with it. All of these aspects played to Asuka's strengths: she was a competent fighter, had stunning looks, and knew how to play dirty. Moreover, given her mean streak, Asuka knew how to create drama and could play the part of heel quite naturally—it also helped that Asuka's mean tendencies had since come to light (such ended up being of no detriment to Asuka's modeling career, however).
Ultimately, Asuka felt like she could excel in LAW and be defined by more than just her looks, all while getting to use her mind. Thus, Asuka decided to join LAW while continuing to model part-time. This way, Asuka would be able to wrestle without giving up all of her modeling income.

After becoming pregnant, Asuka's mother Kiyoko found herself at a crossroads. In Kiyoko's mind, she was faced with a dichotomy: one that was forcing her to choose between her career as a model and "murdering her unborn child". Kiyoko feared that her postpartum body would be rejected by her producers, and she dreaded the possibility that her body might never return to its former state. These fears weighed heavily on Kiyoko, gradually eroding her will to carry the pregnancy to term.
Eventually, Kiyoko had enough: she could not bear to think about the possibility that her career would be cut short due to having a child. Thus, Kiyoko began a mifepristone-misoprostol regimen in order to terminate her pregnancy. She took the mifepristone, as is standard, but was unable to bring herself to take the misoprostol two days later to complete the regimen. As dedicated as Kiyoko was to her job, as utterly unprepared as she was to be a mother, Kiyoko was loath to shirk what she viewed as parental responsibility—she herself had grown up in a broken household with a neglectful mother, and Kiyoko was unwilling to be anything like her mother, whom she deeply resented.
Yet, even taking mifepristone alone has a decent, but not certain, probability of terminating a pregnancy. This caused Kiyoko no small amount of guilt, but it also provided her a means for her, at least in her mind, to absolve herself of responsibility. At that point, Kiyoko thought, it was up to the universe to decide whether or not her pregnancy continued—but in the back of her mind, Kiyoko hoped that the mifepristone would terminate her pregnancy. Much to Kiyoko's disappointment, however, her pregnancy was not terminated.
Side Note
According to a 2013 paper by Bernard et al. titled "Continuation of pregnancy after first-trimester exposure to mifepristone: an observational prospective study", mifepristone alone—i.e. mifepristone without the follow-up misoprostol—does not appear to increase the risk of birth defects, i.e. mifepristone does not appear to be teratogenic. Thus, the fact that Kiyoko took mifepristone during her pregnancy probably would not have put Asuka at greater risk of congenital birth defects.

NOTE: The toxic views in the paragraph above are Kiyoko's, not mine.
Eventually, Kiyoko's personal insecurity began to manifest as resentment—resentment towards the modeling industry, resentment towards herself, and most pertinently, resentment towards Asuka. Kiyoko blamed Asuka for robbing her of her "prime modeling years" and killing her modeling career. Slowly, this resentment seeped into Kiyoko's heart, gradually overriding her maternal love and sense of parental duty until a final tipping point was reached. On Asuka's sixth birthday, Kiyoko abruptly decided that Asuka was dead to her.It took many months for Asuka to overcome the initial shock over her mother's sudden shift in demeanor, but eventually, Asuka did.
Part 2 (Click to expand)
Asuka Satō had been a prominent model for a while, starting during high school and continuing through her undergraduate years. After finishing her higher education, Asuka was met with a pivotal juncture, one that could have branched in a number of manners. For various reasons , Asuka ultimately chose to continue her modeling career part-time while involving herself with LAW—a balance that Asuka thought she could manage, given her prior experiences.
However, after finishing her undergraduate studies, Asuka's modeling career faced significant challenges. Her previous underhanded tactics began to surface, leading to quiet discussions within the modeling industry. The situation resembled a Pandora's box with a broken latch, with vague whispers reaching the general public. Asuka had to fight vigorously to keep the curses from completely escaping, with an amalgam of tense negotiation, threatened litigation, and hasty non-disclosure agreements forming the glue that held the latch closed.
Her battles within the modeling industry and tighter legal leashes from concerned clients kept Asuka chained up, her LAW debut delayed for months despite her signing to LAW having been publicly announced. Legal and social battles siphoned from Asuka's time and energy. Contracts from clients restricted Asuka's activities to prevent her from acting out, with a common stipulation preventing her from participating in LAW matches prior to shoots—bruises and cuts from LAW matches are hardly conducive to modeling, after all.
Months passed, and this status quo was maintained. For a while, it seemed that everything would just blow over, provided that Asuka continued to not stir the pot. Non-disclosure agreements had been signed, and the industry had collectively decided to remain silent to protect its own reputation. But, like many times throughout history, the status quo was upended by a substantial shock, a forcing event that insists upon change.
A model named Svetlana Petrovna, whose career Asuka had damaged, privately threatened an internecine attack. Non-disclosure agreements be damned, Asuka was going to fall and burn, even if it meant destroying her own reputation in the process. The only courtesy Svetlana gave to Asuka was one month of forewarning, after which the extent of Asuka's actions would be revealed to the public. Such a public revelation threatened to immolate Asuka's modeling career, potentially rendering it a pile of smoldering ash. Private improprieties spoken about in hushed voices behind closed doors were one thing, but if Asuka's wrongdoings reached the public eye, she could very well end up a persona non grata to the modeling industry.
The threat of such a conflagration lit a burning fire within Asuka's heart. With the walls closing in, she had to fight desperately and plan an escape. Asuka and her lawyers rushed to initiate last-minute negotiations and prepare a counter-strike, but were rebuffed. This seemingly left Asuka with no other choice but to start preparing for her modeling career's ostensibly impending implosion.
Should the modeling world be closed off to her, then Asuka would have two main options: get a job in her technical field, or start pursuing her LAW career more seriously. The former, however, lacked the sort of prestige that Asuka desired. Moreover, if Asuka's wrongdoings surfaced publicly, pursuing such a job could quickly become difficult: Asuka's history of toxicity would surely be a turn-off to many.
This seemingly left LAW as her remaining viable option. With that decided, the main question was when to time her LAW debut: she could make her LAW debut before the ostensibly impending scandal dropped, or she could debut afterwards. It was a difficult decision, one where the better strategy was unclear.
The less taxing option would have been to wait until after the scandal dropped to make her LAW debut. To solely focus on and address the problem at hand, and to not over-complicate matters by throwing a wrestling debut into the mix. And, if she played her cards right, she could even potentially leverage the scandal to garner interest in her LAW debut.
But Asuka came up with a different solution: a risky gambit that could propel her into the limelight and complicate public perception of the scandal. The plan? To make a heelishly noteworthy debut in LAW to steal attention and establish her new heel persona. And when the scandal broke, it would only add fuel to the already growing fire. Should everything fall into place, Asuka could find herself in the middle of a meteoric rise. It was a risky strategy, sure, but Asuka believed in herself and was not one to shy away from risk if she stood to benefit greatly.
Yet, rising through the ranks of LAW was not Asuka's only objective with this gambit. By debuting shortly before the scandal broke, Asuka could more easily insinuate that the scandal was a calculated stunt designed to boost her wrestling career, subtly casting doubt on its veracity. Devious actions by heels were expected and even accepted in professional wrestling, but having a public reputation for deviousness in the modeling world could, in Asuka's mind, prove quite harmful. Uncomfortable with scorn or widespread dislike, Asuka aimed to confine her negative actions to her wrestling persona, maintaining plausible deniability about whether these actions reflected her true character.
With a plan in mind, Asuka struck. Obligations from her modeling career were preventing her from engaging with LAW, so she forcefully remedied that. Like an angioplasty forcibly making a gap in a clogged artery , Asuka violently pushed aside modeling obligations in her schedule to punch a large, gaping, LAW-shaped hole in her schedule.
All that was left was to find an opponent for her LAW debut, and to do so on short notice. But finding the right opponent would not be easy. Her pickings were rather limited given the short-notice nature of the whole ordeal, which meant that Asuka could not be particularly choosy. In an ideal world, however, Asuka would choose an established opponent whom she could feasibly beat and subsequently humiliate. A jobber would not do as there was no glory in beating one; nor would an experienced fighter, as she could feasibly lose. Ultimately, though, Asuka knew that finding the perfect opponent was unlikely.
But as the saying goes, nothing ventured, nothing gained. And Asuka was willing to put it all on the line for her shot at recognition.
Asuka's Career Choice
After finishing her undergraduate program in the United States, Asuka was not without options in life. As a successful model with an undergraduate degree in computer science and electrical engineering, she had two different industries that she could break into. Additionally, her signing with LAW added an additional frontier for her to explore. Each path had its advantages and disadvantages, and Asuka carefully weighed them all.
Although she felt that a technical career would be the most intellectually fulfilling option for her, Asuka could not get over its comparative lack of prestige and earnings compared to high-level modeling. Ultimately, Asuka saw such a career as a solid fallback plan, one that she could rely on in the eventuality that the looks-oriented modeling industry discarded her and replaced her with younger models.
Ultimately, Asuka chose to both model part-time and wrestle under LAW. Modeling would a guaranteed major source of income for her, with LAW potentially turning lucrative should she play her cards right. She already had prominence in the modeling field, and LAW provided another possible pathway to prominence. Moreover, while neither modeling nor LAW were intellectually fulfilling to her technical side, the latter allowed her to use her intellect in cunning ways. Finally, Asuka knew that doors in the modeling and wrestling world would close as she aged, so she wanted to capitalize on her opportunities while she still could.
This combination of careers was not a straightforward one, however. The physical and travel demands of a modeling career would directly conflict with a career as a LAW wrestler, so balancing them could prove nightmarish. Asuka nonetheless had confidence that she could manage, given how she managed to balance modeling and college.
