Wrestling Information

Wrasslin’ Style: Nowadays, Evelyn appreciates the beauty of simple suplexes, neckbreakers and submissions. Her old way centred around solely to get pops without any great heed to the fundamentals, the psychology of someone who truly wanted to win, and neither the fortitude or strength to finish what she started. She’d like to think that’s behind her. After nothing but straight losses in her first LAW run and even before that, never having her hand raised.

She focuses much more on grappling ability with a lean into traditional puroresu and old school western wrestling. When a match starts, her first instinct is to attempt to tie-up and tangle. Wear out their initial strength like it's an HP bar set to be chipped away. Pick her limb. Go for it early. Don’t be afraid of trying to end it early. Because a match is a match! Not a concert.

… sometimes. When it comes to old habits, Evelyn still lets her fan-service side slip through. She still loves to pose on the competition from time to time, for fun, using the occasional bronco buster and squeezing a head between her legs. Its all good fun.

And that’s not to say it was her only evolution. On her stand-up, one of her main weaknesses was the shallow repertoire of strikes. While she resents closed fists for old school grappling, she has otherwise built up a healthy dose of taekwondo to kick from nowhere and FAST. Surprisingly, this has become one of her absolute favourite offence flavours, rivalling her adoration for high-flying.

Strengths: When it comes to holding up puroresu, then Evelyn is a good match for anyone! Through being bent in so many moves and ragdolled around, she has come to grasp the whys and how’s of her mistakes to create a much stronger wrestling game. What might be her strongest offensive trait is just how suddenly she can snap something off and go for the win at any point! A roundhouse to the face or a sudden armbar. She has come to prove herself different, so her willpower to soldier through and find her opportunity makes her a good competitor from bell to bell.

Weaknesses: Evelyn still suffers when it comes to truly pain-pinching maneuvers that target joints and power moves. Her body simply doesn’t deal well in that environment and she could be prone to tapping out in a panic, much to her humiliation. Strikers are probably her biggest threat, however. If she can’t tie them up, then she has a tendency to block shots with her tummy and face. The quicker and more efficient the strike, the worse off she is.

The Character
Evelyn Fallanger is a long-time indie wrestler going on her second run.

You may remember her fondly from her debut, where she helplessly orgasmed and was pinned flat by a motherly Mina Takemi!
Or her run-ins with many heels, bleeding on the canvas.
Or being smothered by Blaise Cameron’s pectoral muscles.
Being knocked out by Rosie Knuckles…
Cumming to Sparkling Idol Barbara, AND becoming her prisoner.
To…
Being taken by Roni Mancini
Destroyed by Piper Sherwood.
… And letting herself be fooled by a certain pink-haired heartbreaker. Not once, but twice.

But this isn’t the first time she kissed defeat with her tongue.
One of the things Evelyn always knew is that she had yet to score victory in ANY professional wrestling outing. Not once. And even though she wanted it, she never achieved it. But, why? Well, to Evelyn’s estimation, it came down to three things:

1. Skill issue. She simply pushed aspects of herself that made a flash rather than anything to really defend herself.
2. Attitude. Her constant buffering and complacency to JUST do her “best” was something that she used to cope late into her wrestling career, and just life in general.
3. Perspective. Evelyn always looked to appease others and made that her mission. She was willing to sacrifice every bit of herself for that mission. After a while, this just made her unhappy. And it left her without much respect from those around, as she didn’t value wrestling like many of the greats she wanted to emulate.

So what changed?
Well.
Hopefully, slowly and gradually, just about everything.

After her last match in LAW with Airana Dwi Melati Sukma at We are LAW 5, Evelyn retreated back to California, where she found herself quite directionless. Though, this wasn’t to say she wasn’t without opportunity. As a former LAW star, she had plenty of indie opportunities -- but they always wanted her song and dance. Throw a finger-gun, get in that ring, move the hips and then be squished horribly, or moan and moan until the front row has hard-ons. This was fine for her, but it got immensely stressful as her “gimmick” became the girl to pick on, wherever, whenever.

Did she call it quits?
Kinda.
With negative amounts of respect from her peers, a utility perspective from management and a target on her back for bullying, she didn’t see anything she wanted here. It was far from the superstar she wanted to be. So she did ‘quit.’

But, her father was there to help. As a former cop, he had juuuuust a little knowledge on self-defence per training, which was enough to tango with Evelyn. They did a few harmless spars and it showed Evelyn a vital weakness: the simple things! Evelyn’s form was crap and always open. She let herself be controlled and bit the pain instead of striking back! She was always looking to set up something big but didn’t do the small moves. Muticulation.

She needed to defend herself. For herself.

So Evelyn took up a martial art. Taekwondo. Frankly, Evelyn’s LAW career even stretched here as the instructors recognized her, which made Evelyn furious. Furious enough to attack the training! She wanted them to push, push, push her! And they did… kinddddaaaa….

Frankly, she had been pushing at a McDojo. They were too embarrassed to really tell her that most of her effort was a little misguided and misplaced here. But. She let off steam, right? That’s when she was taken aside and asked if she was looking to return to professional wrestling. Of course… That question was tough. She originally said no, but also really wanted to learn the craft.

So they hooked her up. A real fighting gym with puroresu. But: it was in Japan. So, again, she flew off. Then, having entered into the Joshi-sphere again, she found herself feeling suffocated and frankly a little paranoid. The training was rigorous, demanding and she felt like the instructors hated her or something. Again, she nearly quit.

It felt like most things had crumbled and that all her time was wasted. She cut her own hair in the bathroom out of frustration. Then, showed up for another session. And again, she was taken aside and criticised, but this time, she took it better. And together, with her senseis, she watched clips of old matches and some of the greats from Theresia Neidermeyer, Asai Rei, Alaina Sanders, Dana Ashford and more.

Each had their flair and style. What did they all have in common, however? All of them embraced pro wrestling as a sport. Not just a popularity opportunity.

Was this the missing link to make her a master?
Of course not.
But it was a start for Evelyn to evaluate quite firmly on what she wanted to do. And that was: To be a Joshi.

Many long months were ahead, balancing a life and training. She had to decide what to do about Miss Fallacy, and decided to softly retire that era for something… more… fitting? That’s when she got the ronin idea. Samurai. They made their lives practicing and honing weapons, and themselves. She was doing the same, so why not try it? It was a bit weebish, but it beat gunslinging slut.

Then, after those many long months, one of her teachers had a private conversation with her. LAW was looking for some new young talent to fill their undercard ranks. Would that be her?

Yes, she said.
And the rest is history.

Now that you’ve gotten past the lore… What about the person?

She has an exceptionally kind and friendly disposition that radiates energy and wholesome charisma. Her neutral mode is trying her best to make herself a pleasant person to talk to and do stuff with, so she attempts to be incredibly open-minded in the spaces she dwells in. But, no matter where she ends up, Evelyn will always rebound to simple things. Shopping for clothes, messing around with cosmetics, going to theatres and cat cafes. Or the zoo. It’s not to say she doesn’t like things rowdy… Oh, no, no, no… She was once a frequent partygoer and still loves to go to clubs, just less frequently. Recently, she has found her tastes with mosh pits and you can occasionally find her on someone’s shoulders.

Despite being a cat lover, her accommodation was only willing to allow birds… for some reason. So, now, much of her off days are playing with a Grey Parrot named “Bang.”

As an opponent, Evelyn plays a type of ronin named Daishouri, throwing up peace signs and exclaiming it loudly. Some say she gets away with looking the part… And really, she really-really-really doesn’t want to hear otherwise to save herself the cringe-barressment. But she loves this new image! And that confidence is now a flagship trait as someone who is honourable, fun, stickler for the rules, but serious underneath it and wants to prove she can go the distance: I am Joshi! (patent pending)

Still… Self-confidence is still probably her main struggle.
And although she has made great progress, she has developed quite the sore spot for things like mind games and pointless insults, leaning into a much meaner and cruder side of herself. It’s almost like she knows where to draw the line for self-respect reasons and give them what they’re provoking, or just… withdraw, and shut them out.

She knows having a grudge isn’t worth it, whether to fans, her former opponents or just anyone. But its hard to manage it when you’re getting kicked in the face. So she tells herself.

She hopes for herself that really didn’t change too much, or became a product of bad experiences. She only wants progress now, not to just “do her best” but to show she can, and dare she say, “Be the best.” To live her life as a wrestler, step-by-step-by-step. One. Two. Three. DING-DING-DING
