It's not easy growing up thicker than most of your peers. Being big-bodied in an environment filled with other children who haven't learned what empathy is tends to lead to bullying and bad habits. Such is the case with Mikuma Sato. Born heftier than most, this kind-hearted and big-bodied young woman got the short end of the stick in school. Her rather large size lead to ridicule from all angles. It didn't help that she was also small in stature for her build. Rude and inconsiderate boy bullies would push her around, steal her supplies, and run away, knowing she wouldn't be fast enough to chase after them. Prettier girls in class would talk behind her back with their snide, sarcastic remarks, ostracizing her during lunch, never interacting with her during playtime, the whole nine yards...This continued in middle school when the bullying got worse. Mikuma built up a reputation for being the quiet and nerdy smart kid, so she was often accosted and bullied. It wasn't just about picking on her for her size and weight. It was about messing with her because of how easily you could get away with it. Everything shifted from crass remarks to crude and explicit messages being scratched and etched onto her desk. Mean comments were scribbled across her locker, and her belongings were tarnished and ruined...if they weren't ransacked at first. Mikuma tried her best to live her life peacefully and quietly, never managing to raise her voice out of fear of pushback.
Eventually, as with any bullying scenario, the victim inevitably reaches their breaking point...One day during her high school years, Mikuma stopped showing up for school for several days. She ignored any texts on her phone, any calls, even locking her parents out of her room. When she finally felt comfortable enough to go back, things only picked off where they ended, only this time...it got much worse...On her way home from school, Mikuma was surrounded by a pack of rowdy delinquent boys with their trashy girlfriends, looking to rough up their usual, meek-mannered target for whatever lunch money she had on her. The heavyset young girl was trapped in the alleyway with nobody around to save her, nor the courage to speak up and call out for help...Or so she thought...Before the bullies could close in on her, a voice called out. At the alley's entrance stood a slightly thickset woman. She appeared no more than a few years older than Jiyuu. She looked raunchy and whorish with her clothing choices, black and green with a frog motif...Was she another punk friend of this group? Incorrect. She walked up to one of the bullies and tossed a brutal haymaker right into their jaw, flooring the brat easily and causing the rest of the punks to scatter...so much for strength in numbers, honor among thieves, and all that nonsense...Mikuma sat in awe, hunched against the wall in fear, afraid of what this chick would do to her. Little did she know, she was looking at the first real friend she would ever make...
After the two left the alley and made it to the safety of a local ramen bar, they got to talking. The raunchy-looking lady's name was Jiyuu June, a small-time indie wrestler with a rather intriguing "side hustle" on the side of her usual routine. She lived in Nagoya but was visiting a friend in Osaka for the time being as part of a traveling wrestling promotion. She was returning from the market, picking up some groceries, when she heard a slight commotion. She peeked into the alley, not minding her business...a common trait with Jiyuu...She spotted the helpless young woman surrounded by her thuggish peers and acted. Mikuma asked why Jiyuu saved her...Jiyuu merely answered with a shrug before stating that she just sort of...acted on impulse. She saw something wrong and decided to correct it. Mikuma wasn't buying it, but she didn't question it further. That should have been the end of their interaction on that day, but for some reason, fate swayed the young, plump schoolgirl to inquire about something else. She asked Jiyuu how she moved so quickly and hit so hard, and she asked her how she had so much confidence...and Jiyuu painted the picture as crystal clear as she possibly could with just two words...
-PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING-
With a renewed sense of vigor and a fresh outlook on life, Mikuma's life was turned upside down. After that day, she swore to become a professional wrestler like her newfound friend. People who knew Jiyuu were shocked to discover she had a positive influence on someone...Especially someone younger than her. Taking one look at the frog-loving sexual deviant could tell anyone that she was a bit of a lost cause and a terrible influence, yet in this one instance, she managed to turn somebody's life around for the better. While finishing up her last year of high school, Mikuma got to work on studying professional wrestling. She began watching videos and old VHS tapes, reading books in the library, researching on the internet, and practicing moves in her bedroom on her pillows. Eventually, she enrolled in a wrestling school, impressing her coaches with her skills and talent despite her size and stature. The main problem...was her stage fright...
In front of larger audiences, Mikuma had tendencies to freeze up. She felt surrounded and bombarded by everyone's gaze on her. She panicked at the thought of what they might be thinking, and it often caused her to slip up at crucial points in matches where she was otherwise decimating. Despite this, she created a halfway decent rookie career, starting small and working her way up. Eventually, she built a big enough profile to attract the attention of a few medium-sized promotions.
Months later, she joined the indie league that Jiyuu was part of, debuting as a new rookie sensation known as Ursa Major, adopting a bear-themed gimmick that played well into her appearance, fighting style, and mannerisms...She was soft, cute, and cuddly...but she could become a nigh unstoppable powerhouse force that could tear through the competition all the same. She quickly rose through the ranks to meet her friend in the middle of the card, teaming up with Jiyuu to make a name for themselves in the indie leagues, reaching the top of the card and capturing two separate tag team title runs. Despite her crippling stage fright, Mikuma was a talented performer with a well of potential within her. Teaming up with someone she trusted, like Jiyuu, created a great dynamic duo with fluid chemistry and hard-hitting attacks. Mikuma and Jiyuu made such a good team that a talent scout from LAW offered the two a chance at the big leagues. After passing a few inspections, they were set to move on...So now, both women were thrown into the deep end of the business in the single-biggest move of their careers. At first, Mikuma was afraid...She wasn't sure if she'd be able to succeed in the big leagues, especially so soon into her career...but with her friend by her side, nothing seemed impossible...
Personality: Mikuma is a passionate young woman with a soft-spoken attitude. Throughout her life, she's never had the backbone to assert herself. She's made friends but has typically always been a follower, going along with the status quo. It wasn't until she met Jiyuu that she finally started to make decisions for herself. She began to take matters into her own hands and stand up for herself. She didn't allow bullies to steal her things or taunt her for her looks. She began to sit where she wanted to at lunch and speak up during class whenever she knew the answers. Deep down, all Mikuma wants is to live her life. She's a bright and perceptive, albeit bashful, young woman. She's got plenty of talent with a large room to grow and develop as a person. You won't find anyone more kind and gentle-hearted than her, even if she can barely get a word out through her ceaseless stammering. When she's not flustered by almost anything, Mikuma can be quite the talker. She's very passionate about several things, and talking with her about them can lead to hours of discussion and ranting.
Trivia
- Due to being young, timid, a little socially awkward, and typically seen as unattractive growing up due to her body type, Mikuma has never had her first kiss. This is a secret that only a select few people could know as the young woman finds it VERY humiliating. One of her biggest fears is that someone in LAW will figure it out and exploit that by stealing it from her.
- If not for Jiyuu, Mikuma wouldn't be as "confident" as she is now. The overtly raunchy cam girl is a somewhat positive "role model" for the timid, polar-bear-themed grappler. Despite her flaws, the frog-loving freak wants the best for her best friend. Jiyuu wants to prevent Mikuma from turning out like her, or worse, so she does her best to reflect only positive qualities around her friend. Otherwise, she'll tell Mikuma not to imitate her...unless it involves being confident and having the attitude to stand up for herself.
- Though her name has the kanji for bear in it, the bear-themed naming conventions came from how Mikuma's body is big and round like a bear's, but also due to how she loves honey. Additionally, sushi with salmon is one of her favorite foods. Mikuma believes that these are all just coincidences.
- Before helping Jiyuu and falling in love with professional wrestling, Mikuma wanted to become a zoologist. Anything surrounding the study of animals was always her favorite kind of assignment in science class.
- Mikuma's a big fan of thrift shopping. Something is satisfying and rewarding about going to a small local store and buying used clothes to help the environment so they don't end up in a landfill. Additionally, it helps since her spending budget on clothes has been reduced drastically.
- The tattoo on her right leg is the ''Big Dipper'', otherwise known as ''Ursa Major''. She got this on her eighteenth birthday before her big match to graduate from rookie training, making her eligible to compete in legitimate matches.
- Mikuma is pansexual but keeps her preferences on ideal types of partners a secret. Her actions will also convey mixed messaging on whether or not she's romantically (or sexually) interested in someone. Sometimes she can be incredibly bashful and flustered around someone, and two minutes later, she can be unaffected before switching back to being a blushing mess.
- Mikuma likes to bake; Cookies and brownies are her preferred desserts.
- A bookworm at heart, Mikuma prefers going to the library alone to read to break away from training and relax. When she's there, she'll sometimes read books to the children, finding comfort in telling stories...It's one of the rare cases where she DOESN'T get anxiety and stage fright when performing for an audience.
- When she wants to be an anti-social shut-in, she'll spend time on her computer playing RTS, rogue-like, metroidvanias, or survival games, getting lost in them for hours. She's a big fan of video games with great stories and will often rant and rave about them without stopping.

Strategy: Due to her inexperience, Mikuma's skillset is not the WIDEST in terms of variety, but she has great potential. She is ready and willing to learn and shows explosive growth during training. The one thing she NEEDS to get over is her crippling anxiety about performing in front of large crowds. She almost freezes up and goes into a complete panic attack. When she finally manages to overcome her fears, her opponent is immediately shown why the young woman has a bear theme as her gimmick. While she may be as cute, soft, and cuddly as a bear...she's just as powerful and ferocious. Mikuma's greatest attribute is her weight and strength, which she uses to her advantage to pull off simple power moves with a crushing level of impact. With her short and stocky stature, she uses her low center of gravity to hold opponents down for submissions and grapples, making the most with what she can out of any given scenario. She'll also throw her weight around by slinging herself into the ropes. Using the momentum to turn herself into a wrecking ball, she knocks her opponents flat onto their backs.
