Chika felt several things as she sat down on a bench in the locker room, thinking about the whirlwind that was 2019 for her. Between her daughter going to school and herself winning several major Joshi promotions top prizes across Japan, it was definitely a great year...however, once she realized that despite all her success, her funds would still not be enough to cover the school fees (wanting to provide the best education for her daughter that she possibly could), it was time to finally switch from the independants and sign with a major promotion. LAW offering her a very high-end contract as swiftly as it did however, was the best Christmas present she could ask for. And needless to say, she had to not disappoint them tonight to justify it...
Her daughter was already somewhere in the audience, with Eiichiro, her adoptive father, sitting with her (LAW's kids hours happening way earlier in the shows until...specific matches were allowed and children were practically kicked out of the building at the sight of them). During her entrance she had to be on the look out for them.
In the meantime, she took on finishing touches to her entrance attire, putting on her large raven mask and the claw, already wearing the armor. Once she was done...she sat down, and held her breath. Debuts were always exciting and frightful for her. She had quite a few fans the world over, quite a large portion of that in Japan...but LAW definitely had more reach than independant Joshi and Puroresu feds around Tokyo. There will be fresh eyes on her, judging her...
Lastly there was the matter of her opponent tonight, also debuting. Marie St. Pierre, a heiress to a reknowned martial arts family from Canada that was making quite a name for herself great both as a solo and a tag team wrestler, the latter with her sister. This was a great foe to debut against. Established, well-known fighter from overseas against a veteran Japanese wrestler. A tale that was quite oldschool for Puroresu...with both conclusions just as possible to occur tonight:
"Hmmmm...no. There is no possibility of her winning. I will beat her. Full stop!", she would promise herself.
Dashing slightly anxious thoughts away, she heard a knock on the door, and a woman's voice in Japanese saying: "<Two minutes to your entrance>". Nodding, she stood up, and headed for the Gorilla Position.
Lights would go down shortly after Marie's entrance, and Chika's music started playing, pausing right before it's first major part as a spotlight turned on...
...and the Raven Knight rose to her feet, her sight directed right towards Marie as the song returned to the speakers.
She made her way down the ramp, approaching and smirking at the members of the audience, keeping her field of vision wide to make sure she could see...
...a cute little figure wearing her mask right in the front row, with a large man who was easy to guess to be a pro wrestler sat down next to her. Kairi would jump up and down as her mother approached her, smiling at her with the widest grin she could muster:
"<Kick her butt, mom!>"
"<Oh, I will.>", she would tell her, before whispering to her in a hushed tone: "<I love you...>"
After that, her attention was squarely towards the ring. If she wanted Kairi to see her win, focus was incredibly important. She climbed on top of the ring apron, lifting her claw up into the air as she stood a top her perch...before efficiently hopping off, happening to be right in the corner opposite to her opponent.
She quickly proceeded to take off her entrance armor off of her, revealing the violet eyed, confident Joshi wrestler underneath, wearing a tied up shirt with a beautiful art she commissioned herself for it (Kairi wearing the same one in the front row), as well as black shorts, wearing kickpads over her legs as her bare feet touched the ring canvas:
"Konichiwa!", Chika greeted her foe with a bright smile, quickly giving way to a more confident one. The ref would approach her to quickly check her for weapons (and doing the same for Marie), before Chika approached the middle of the ring with outstretched hands. Despite being more heroic a wrestler, Joshis of all moralities are known to skip the bell at times no matter the match, no matter if it was against their rival, someone who disrespected them, a newcomer...however, a debut was different to her, however. This was to make it clear that, despite her dark look, she was not a rulebreaker by any stretch of the imagination...
